A stretch of dark mountain range lay before them, as black as the eye could see.
Within the mountain range stood ancient trees over a hundred zhang tall, their branches lush and leaves dense. Vast swathes of towering trees blocked out most of the sunlight, allowing only a small portion to filter through. Fallen leaves lay a foot thick on the ground, the air reeked of decay, and the forest was frighteningly still.
A golden Spirit Horse galloped over from afar and stopped at the outskirts of the mountains. Ye Haitang and Zhao Shou leaped down from its back. Not far ahead of them lay a long, narrow black valley, with large quantities of black stones scattered across the ground.
Zhao Shou took out a pale cyan beast hide and compared it with the valley. Somewhat excited, he said, "This is the place, no mistake. It seems no one has come here yet."
Ye Haitang shook her head. "Not necessarily. Someone got here before us and even set up a Formation."
"A Formation?"
Zhao Shou was slightly taken aback. He spread out his divine sense, but detected nothing unusual.
With a flick of her sleeve, Ye Haitang sent a streak of golden light shooting out, striking an open patch of ground.
Rumble!
After a deafening explosion, the ground was blasted open into a huge pit several zhang wide. A pale cyan Formation Flag could vaguely be seen within it, already snapped in two. The golden light was a crescent-shaped short blade, entirely golden in color.
Zhao Shou looked somewhat surprised and said with a smile, "Fairy Ye, I didn't expect you to know the art of breaking formations as well."
"I only know a little of the surface. They can only blame themselves for their poor skill in setting formations.
