There were factions within the Lizard Race as well. Important strongholds and resources had to be guarded by experts. Take that large Sun Essence Crystal vein, for example. Four Body Integration Cultivators were stationed there, and as long as they held the vein, the four of them could take a share of the Sun Essence Crystals mined from it, lining their own pockets in the process.
The other strongholds were much the same. As long as there was no war, they would receive benefits continuously.
