At the southwestern corner of the island, a palace with flickering blue light floating around it hovered high in the air. The gilded plaque bore the three large blue characters "Wan Hai Hall."
The entrance to Wan Hai Hall stood open. The main hall was spacious and brightly lit, and a tall, lean blue-robed elder sat in the seat of honor, his tiger eyes commanding awe without anger.
Lord Wan Hai was in the Great Ascension Early Stage and had already survived two Grand Heavenly Tribulations.
For a Great Ascension Cultivator to advance further was extraordinarily difficult. It was not as though one could advance simply by devoting oneself to bitter cultivation.
Han Yiqing stood to one side, reporting the situation.
"Senior Xu, that's what happened. The Seventh Order Nine-Colored Insect fell into the Witch Race's hands. A Witch Race Great Ascension Cultivator should have an easier time surviving the Grand Heavenly Tribulation."
Han Yiqing wore a respectful expression, her face filled with indignation.
Naturally, she would not say that the Han Family had acted out of selfish motives. Instead, she claimed that they had wanted to capture the Seventh Order Nine-Colored Insect and offer it to Lord Wan Hai.
Lord Wan Hai could naturally see the Han Family's true objective. He simply chose not to expose it.
"I understand. You may leave."
Lord Wan Hai spoke calmly, as though he were discussing something utterly insignificant.
