Meanwhile, the crossbow bolts fired by the Mercenary Crossbowmen and Mercenary Sentinels overhead rained down with crackling bursts, exploding bloody flowers from the charging Pigmen and splattering their faces with blood!
At such close range, whether fired from war crossbows or light crossbows, the bolts possessed tremendous penetration.
Their destructive power was even more formidable.

Any hit to a vital point made those ugly Pigmen—helmetless and wearing only leather armor on their chests—let out miserable wails.
Then, with their skulls pierced through by crossbow bolts, they collapsed to the ground and fell completely silent!
