The Life Simulation has begun. Due to the Simulator version being too low, only Text Simulation is supported.
Age seventeen: You attended an auction hosted by your family. At the auction, an inconspicuous Bronze Key caught your attention. Your subconscious told you that you had to bid on it. Though you found it strange, you still had William win the item for you.
As expected, Chen Mu thought to himself when he saw the first line of Black Text.
He had actually wanted to test whether giving himself orders in reality would affect the simulated version of himself.
Now, Chen Mu could confirm that messages his real self conveyed to his own subconscious could bypass the Simulator and affect the simulation itself.
Chen Mu did not know whether this counted as a bug in the Simulator.
After all, in the previous simulation, the Bronze Key had ultimately been bought by a black-robed man suspected of belonging to the Black Robe Pathseekers Society.
Yet in this simulation, Chen Mu himself had it bought for him.
After confirming this idea, Chen Mu continued reading the simulation carefully.
He wanted to see how this completely different beginning would ultimately change the course of the simulation.
Age eighteen: This year, you experienced countless assassination attempts. The Black Robe Pathseekers Society's actions became extraordinarily frenzied. During the most dangerous attempt, they even dispatched a Wizard Apprentice. However, your father, Earl Arthur, protected you well, and you did not face any fatal threat.
Age nineteen: Over the past two years, you studied the Bronze Key but discovered nothing special about it. Nor did you connect the Black Robe Pathseekers Society's frenzied actions with this inconspicuous Bronze Key.
Age twenty: Practicing the Breathing Technique no longer brought any improvement, and Secret Medicine had pitifully little effect. Thus, you temporarily halted your Breathing Technique training and began practicing other Knight Skills.
Age twenty-three: You trained as usual. Your father introduced you to a marriage proposal, but you rejected it.
Age twenty-five: Your father, Earl Arthur, carved out a territory for you within the Far East Territory, and you became a minor lord. The Black Robe Pathseekers Society's activities fell silent once more, and it had been a year since you last suffered an assassination attempt from them.
Age twenty-six: You died. You died in your sleep, killed by witchcraft.

Retain Realm or Retain Spell
It had come full circle again. He had still died at the age of twenty-six.
Chen Mu frowned in thought. By now, he could confirm that the Black Robe Pathseekers Society's actions were indeed related to the Bronze Key.
More than merely related, there was a high chance that the Black Robe Pathseekers Society's target was the Bronze Key itself.
Chen Mu did not yet know whether the Black Robe Pathseekers Society had learned in advance that the Bronze Key would appear at this auction, or whether they had simply happened upon it by coincidence.
So, he had to make a trip to this auction.
Before the simulation, he had repeatedly warned himself that the Bronze Key was important, and his simulated self had indeed bought it.
But directly buying it was clearly not an option, because that would still cause the Black Robe Pathseekers Society to lock onto him as their target.
The simulated version of himself did not possess all of his real memories.
If he had possessed all of Chen Mu's memories, he should have had the person in charge of the auction withdraw the item rather than choosing to buy it himself.
Chen Mu organized the events of these several simulations in his mind, linking them together.
What he could now confirm was that this auction probably had not existed in the previous simulations.
If this auction had been part of the original plan, then the Black Robe Pathseekers Society must have already obtained the Bronze Key in the simulations from several months ago.
Then they certainly would not have tried to assassinate Chen Mu.
After all, if they had already gotten what they wanted, what would be the point of assassinating him?
"What exactly is this Bronze Key? It made the Black Robe Pathseekers Society go so mad that they were even willing to plot for years just to kill me."
Chen Mu muttered to himself. Although the two simulations had allowed him to see some things more clearly, everything remained vague.
For instance, what exactly was the Bronze Key, and why did the Black Robe Pathseekers Society value it so highly?
Or had the Black Robe Pathseekers Society learned of the Bronze Key beforehand for this auction, or was it merely a coincidence? Chen Mu had no way of judging any of this yet.
"Forget it. I have to make this trip to the auction no matter what. Either way, I won't die on the spot."
No matter what, both simulations showed that this trip to the auction would be safe.
In that case, Chen Mu had every reason to go.
Chen Mu pushed his countless thoughts back into the depths of his heart.
There were only ten days left before the auction began. No amount of thinking could compare to seeing the auction in person.
"Retain Spell."
The thought arose again, and this time Chen Mu chose Retain Spell.
Countless memories began flooding into Chen Mu's mind. With his experience, he quickly absorbed them.
Two simulations in a row had undoubtedly brought him enormous improvements.
He had been so eager to begin the second simulation that he had barely even felt the physical changes brought by the first.
After all, in the first simulation, he had lived all the way to sixty-seven.
Although he had ultimately failed to become a Grand Knight, he had still reached Knight Peak.
Furthermore, he had consumed countless Secret Medicines and Magic Potions. His Physique had undoubtedly reached the absolute peak of a Formal Knight.
Name: Chen Mu Spirit: 1.6 Physique: 4.7 Realm: Knight Peak Witchcraft: None Breathing Technique: Golden Lion Breathing Method (Mastery 173/1600) Knight Skills: Lionheart Slash (Mastery 72/1600), Armor Piercing Slash (Proficient 422/800), Starfire Arrow (Proficient 371/800), Dual Blade Continuous Slash (Beginner 234/400), Charged Strike (Beginner 377/400). Simulation Attempts: 0
His Physique attribute had leaped from 3.6 to 4.7. Though it was only an increase of 1.1, the improvement it brought Chen Mu was enormous.
The Knight Peak displayed in the realm column was enough to explain everything. This was the highest realm of a Formal Knight recognized by the Simulator.
If the Physique of every Formal Knight were quantified, Chen Mu was confident that among Formal Knights, there were exceedingly few whose Physique attribute exceeded his.
Even his Spirit attribute had increased by a tiny amount.
Chen Mu guessed that this was the effect of Magic Potions. After all, he had not practiced a Meditation Method.
Compared to the increase in realm and the enormous boost to his attributes, Retain Spell did not benefit him much, but it was better than nothing.
After all, in the second simulation, he had only lived to twenty-six.
If he had chosen Retain Spell in the first simulation, then his current panel would definitely have been different again.
But to Chen Mu, realm was far more important than spells.
So, unless his realm had improved too little in a simulation, Chen Mu was actually more inclined to choose Retain Realm.
Of course, each had its own advantages. After all, no matter how high one's realm was, if one did not master any spells—Knight Skills—then one would still be at the mercy of others in battle.
After these two simulations, Chen Mu's strength could be said to have skyrocketed.
Chen Mu felt that he could now beat up five of his former selves.
