"What... was going on?"
When Sauron returned to the inn and entered his room, he froze at the sight before him.
A scarred man lay on the floor, his body cold. He was already dead.
There was also a middle-aged man, apparently the innkeeper, whose neck was being bitten as Black Dog Heath pinned him to the floor.
"Brother, you're back?"
Vivian had been interrogating the innkeeper with a dagger. When she saw Sauron return, she quickly put it away and greeted him with a smile.
"What happened?"
Sauron asked in confusion. He was not worried about Vivian's safety. In fact, with Vivian's current strength, if they truly fought, Sauron might not even be able to defeat his sister. Not to mention Black Dog Heath, that "extraordinary divine beast."
"They said they wanted to capture me and sell me for money. They were bad people, so... I took action."
Vivian answered.
"Capture you and sell you?"
The moment Sauron heard that, fury surged through him.
Having come from a Rogue background, Sauron was naturally familiar with such shady underground dealings. Once Vivian explained it, he immediately understood what had happened.
"Very good! They actually dared to provoke me?"
Sauron's face turned icy as he walked toward the innkeeper, Andrew. Looking at the man pinned beneath the black dog's paws with his neck in its jaws, killing intent poured from Sauron's eyes.
"Which gang are you from? Blood Hand or Snake Fang? Speak!"
After having Black Dog Heath release Andrew's neck, Sauron planted a foot on Andrew's chest. His stern voice was as cold as ice.
Having just returned from one of the underground factions' hideouts, Sauron already had a thorough understanding of White Horse City's underworld.
"How did you know...?"
Innkeeper Andrew's face was full of shock.
