Following the patrolling corpse soldiers, the group continued forward through the blood-red mist.
The blood-red mist was cold and damp.
After walking for a while, everyone felt as though their clothes had been drenched by rain, clinging wetly to their bodies as bone-deep cold seeped into them.
Fortunately, they had all cultivated internal energy. Circulating their true qi, they resisted the chill. Yet the dampness on their bodies could never be driven away.
After walking for roughly an hour, a deep gorge appeared ahead.
By the light of Buddha's Lamp Before the Buddha, they saw that it was a deep gorge stretching from north to south. Endless crimson mist churned within it, red as blood, like a vast sea of blood.
The gorge was dozens of yards wide, and they could only vaguely make out a few protruding rocks. The rocks seemed to have been soaked in blood, emanating a sinister, bloody aura.
"According to the legends of the Hanhai, once we cross this gorge, we will reach the Nether God's temple."
Gu Changqing pointed at the gorge and explained in a low voice.
"Whew... we've finally arrived."
Being surrounded by this blood-red mist, wet and sticky all over while shrouded in frigid cold, was simply torture.
They cautiously stepped into the gorge. After proceeding for a while longer, the view suddenly opened up before them, revealing a vast plain.
Faintly, they could see the outlines of countless buildings across the plain.
The blood mist grew thicker, and the cold aura became even more intense.
"Over there..."
Suddenly, Gu Changqing halted, pointing ahead with a face full of shock.
Following the direction he indicated, the group saw... densely packed corpses strewn across the ground ahead.
Endless and innumerable, numbering in the tens of thousands.
