Mystique and Blade Girl fought through the Sentinels to reach the Life Temple, where Quicksilver rescued them and introduced himself. The three entered the temple, and Mystique offered to take Quicksilver to Genosha after the crisis so he could meet Erik.

The Eighth Generation Sentinels invaded Genosha while the Life Legion was away, forcing Magneto to unleash his power and fight them alone. As he destroyed the Sentinel army, Genosha’s residents rallied around him, and Blade Girl realized that conviction was essential to mastering Hell’s Blade.

• Multiple Man and his duplicates helped destroy a base while the Mutants continued attacking Sentinel Main Modules across the world.
• The Eighth Generation Sentinels surrounded Genosha, broke through its protective barrier, and began slaughtering its residents.
• Logan, Blade Girl, and the other X-Men fought to stop the invasion as Magneto urged Professor X to abandon peaceful restraint.

As he tore the buried factory from beneath the White House, Howard Ackerman watched in horror while Bai Xing waited for the still-absent Nimrod Sentinels.

• Magneto left Genosha after defeating the Sentinel Legion and killed Sentinels and resisting humans on his way to Washington.
• Magneto appeared above the White House, broadcast his threats worldwide, and destroyed the soldiers and police gathered outside with a blade wave.

Magneto destroyed the Human Council’s remaining leaders and Sentinel factories, then enlisted Quicksilver to intercept Donald Trask’s rocket. After crushing the rocket and killing Donald, Magneto returned to Genosha with Quicksilver.

• Magneto crushed the Main Module, killing Howard Ackerman, then destroyed the World Disaster Control Bureau, the Evolutionary Alliance, and the Justice Party’s leaders.
• Magneto searched for Donald Trask for seven days before returning to Genosha and asking Professor X to find him with Cerebro.
• Professor X located Donald aboard a rocket preparing to leave Earth, and Magneto asked Quicksilver to help intercept it.

• The Life Legion destroyed Sentinel factories while Mystique's X-Force hunted Sentinel technology, rescued imprisoned Mutants, and searched unsuccessfully for Xavier's School's missing teachers and students.

• Bai Xing met Magneto in the Sahara Desert and warned him that the real war had only just begun.
• Magneto attacked Bai Xing with his Magnetic Martial Way, and the two clashed across the desert.
• Bai Xing taunted Magneto to grow stronger, pushing him to unleash a 100,000-horsepower Guardian Killing Fist.

Bai Xing defeated Apocalypse and forced him to reconsider how to grow stronger, while Apocalypse chose to focus on Magnetic Force. As Apocalypse and Professor X’s group left the Life Temple, a Life Warrior named Shakas fled there with Viper hunting him.

• Bai Xing brutally defeated Apocalypse, told him to return stronger, and sent Professor X, White Queen, and Bobby away from the Life Temple.
• Apocalypse reviewed how his many mutant abilities had failed against Bai Xing and decided to focus on developing his Magnetic Force.

Viper killed Shakas before he could reach the Life Temple, then joined Apocalypse as his fourth Horseman. Apocalypse brought the Horsemen to Washington, built a sacrificial pyramid, and prepared to kill the Americans Professor X had compelled to gather there so he could use an ancient Stone Tablet to evolve his Magnetic Force.

• Viper cut down US Military troops and vehicles as she pursued Shakas, who reached Apocalypse and his companions before she caught him.
• Viper killed Shakas with her venom and, after Apocalypse offered her a place as his fourth Horseman, accepted and underwent Potential Development.
• Apocalypse took Viper, Emma, and Bobby back to Genosha, then ordered Professor X to use Cerebro to control everyone in America and send them to Washington.
• Apocalypse transported the other three Horsemen to Washington and turned nearby buildings into a pyramid, where he placed an ancient Stone Tablet to prepare an evolution ritual.
