On the night of February 15th, Oceanic Era 1504, beneath the vast grasslands of Moon Island, a bright full moon hung high overhead and countless stars glittered across the sky. Outside a grand yet exquisitely designed tent, Carlos stared fixedly at the moon and stars, lost in thought.
Carlos had stayed at the mansion for too long and wanted a change of scenery, so he had moved to the grasslands for a while.

Carlos had only recently developed them. Whenever he had spare time over the past few days, he used those eyes to observe all things and examine their so-called death points and death lines. Honestly, it was a marvelous sensation, even more interesting than the world seen through the Rinnegan.
Carlos had also experimented on animals and plants, cutting their death lines and piercing their death points. Without exception, every one of those animals and plants had died.
Recently, Carlos had begun studying lifeless objects as well, such as rocks, rivers, guns, swords, cannons, and the like. Today was the middle of the month,
