"One, two, three—pull!"
Under the glare of the floodlights, a group of people gripped the tow rope tightly and pulled backward with every ounce of strength they had.
At the other end of the long rope, the off-road vehicle buried deep in the sand suddenly jolted, its four wheels forcibly yanked a good deal higher.
"Come on, everyone!"
Seeing this, the long-haired man let out an ecstatic howl and kept pulling with the strength he used to suck milk.
Lest all their earlier efforts go to waste.
As the saying went, hard work never failed those who put their hearts into it. With everyone working as one, they actually dragged the extremely heavy off-road vehicle out of the sandpit and back onto solid ground.
"Hooray!"
The hikers were beside themselves with excitement and cheered loudly in unison.
They pressed on and continued rescuing the second vehicle.
With their successful example and the lesson from before, the second off-road vehicle got out of trouble without any problems.
The greatest danger had been removed!
Some collapsed straight onto the ground, some embraced each other, and some wiped away tears.
It had been far too difficult!
"Brother..."
The long-haired man had not forgotten their greatest benefactor. But when he tried to find Wang Chen and thank him, he was stunned to discover that there was no trace of him at all.
Wang Chen had been at the very back, pulling the rope.
"Where is he?"
Wang Chen had truly vanished!
Shocked, the hikers searched all around the temporary camp like headless flies, but they could not find Wang Chen anywhere.
It was as though Wang Chen had disappeared into thin air!
One of the hikers said in a trembling voice, "We... we didn't really run into a ghost, did we?"
