A group of people suddenly appeared and surrounded Wang Chen, their black gun barrels aimed at his vital points.
There was not the slightest joy at seeing one of their own on their faces—only deep wariness and suspicion, even a faint trace of concealed malice.
Facing their questioning, Wang Chen answered unhurriedly, "I came down from above."
"Above?"
The middle-aged man asking the questions froze for a moment. "Which base? What are you doing here?"
"Base D01359."
Wang Chen gave the man a deep look, then answered again, "I came here to find someone."
The middle-aged man grew even more suspicious. "Base D01359? How do you still have so many supplies?"
Looking at the gas stove, cookware, and unfinished ingredients laid out before Wang Chen, he could not help swallowing. "Has Base D01359's self-circulating farm resumed operation?"
Wang Chen smiled. "Want something to eat?"
Two of them were greatly tempted. The scent of hot pot was simply too enticing; for people like them, who had lived on nutritional rations for so long, it was an irresistible temptation.
"No need."
The middle-aged man's willpower was clearly strong. Unmoved, he shook his head. "We're here to collect supplies."
In his view, Wang Chen was far too much of an enigma, and he faintly gave him a very bad feeling.
If he had not wanted to learn Wang Chen's background, the middle-aged man would have acted directly!
Wang Chen asked curiously, "And where did you come from?"
These people did not look like the friendly sort, so he did not reveal his true origins and decided to probe their background first.
The middle-aged man exchanged a glance with his companions and stepped closer to Wang Chen, his attitude gradually turning forceful. "Get up and come with us. You'll know when we get there.
