Having disposed of the wizard blocking his path, Ronan accelerated forward.
Over the centuries, the kingdom's Internal Affairs Department had seized vast quantities of alchemical items during countless operations against supernatural beings.
As well as curios.
So-called curios were non-alchemical objects with supernatural or mysterious properties. They might be a stone, a leaf, or the claws, teeth, and such of some Demonic Beast.
Some curios possessed extraordinarily bizarre properties, even bringing misfortune upon people.
And they could not be destroyed.
For this reason, the Internal Affairs Department had constructed a Curio Vault beneath its headquarters, sealing away all highly dangerous curios whose properties could not be altered but were worth studying.
These special curios did not remain buried from the light of day forever. Many were unsealed by the Internal Affairs Department for special missions.
Ronan had only learned of the existence of such a treasure vault within the Internal Affairs Department by chance.
