Its current ruler was Kuma's daughter, Jewelry Bonney!
She was also one of the Worst Generation Supernovas from the original story!
However, since Kuma had not become a Shichibukai, Bonney's path had changed as well.
She had become the queen of the Kingdom of Sorbé!
The Kingdom of Sorbé was also one of the World Government's member states and had to pay a hefty amount of Celestial Gold every year!
The Sober Kingdom was not wealthy, and with the annual Celestial Gold payments, it could even be called impoverished.
There were exceptions, though—the nobles of the Sober Kingdom!
By exploiting the commoners, these nobles had amassed even more wealth than the royal family!
To make those nobles surrender their ill-gotten wealth, Kuma had used rather forceful measures and slaughtered every last one of them!
That was when the name Bartholomew Kuma began to spread!
In the original story, for the sake of the Kingdom of Sorbé and the Revolutionary Army's secret arrangements, Kuma had signed an unequal treaty with the World Government, become a Shichibukai, and undergone human modification by Vegapunk!
After becoming a Shichibukai, his country no longer had to pay Celestial Gold, and its people could live better lives.
Another reason was that the Revolutionary Army wanted to make contact with Vegapunk!
However, because of Yun Ye's intervention, the Shichibukai had been abolished early. Kuma had not caught the World Government's attention, nor had he become a Shichibukai...
He was a hidden piece of the Revolutionary Army and had not been exposed!
