The floor immediately collapsed, revealing a passage beneath it.
Yun Ye wore an expression that said he had known it all along. Whether it was some rule of the world or something else, the idea that concealed places had to be built underground had become an unwritten truth...
Sensing no danger, Yun Ye simply used Flash Step and descended through the passage.
The passage was cramped at first, but after he walked a few steps, it opened up and became brightly lit by lamps.
At the end stood a massive metal door blocking his path.
"So this is the end?"
Yun Ye stepped closer and knocked on the metal door. It felt quite solid, and he wondered whether he could break through it.
With that thought, Yun Ye raised his sword and slashed. With several sharp swishes, deep cuts appeared across the metal door, yet it did not break.
"Heh, it's pretty sturdy!"
Yun Ye chuckled and retreated several steps. This time, he became a little more serious.
Sword intent surged around him. His gaze sharpened, and Yun Ye gripped his sword with both hands before slashing forward!
With a hum, terrifying sword energy tore through the air and slammed viciously into the metal door ahead!
A thunderous boom rang out, and the entire passage seemed to tremble!
Force blasted in every direction as dust filled the air.
Beyond the door was a laboratory filled with high-tech equipment.
More than twenty clones with identical faces were working inside.
Suddenly, a deafening sound reached their ears. Their expressions changed as they looked around in alarm.
"What happened?"
"Why was there such a huge noise all of a sudden?"
Then, to their shock, they discovered that the door, which could withstand mortar bombardment without collapsing, had been cut into two pieces from the middle!
The metal door, several meters thick, crashed to the ground, making even the floor tremble!
When they looked over, they saw a mysterious masked man stepping in through the collapsed doorway.
Outside, night had fully fallen, and the stars glittered brilliantly.
Major Bruller led a squad of Marines to the Oli Family's compound only then.
Ahead of them, fierce flames continued to burn. The scorching heat distorted even the air.
Looking at the ruined battlefield still engulfed in flames, Bruller's expression tightened. It's over? Were we too late?
"Search the area. See if there are any survivors nearby." Bruller directly ordered his men to investigate.
"Yes!"
Several Marines answered and scattered in all directions.

A pirate ship docked at the harbor. Then, a figure leaped from the vessel and charged toward the Chaos Zone.
'Quickdraw' Lawrence, with a bounty of forty-seven million Berries, wore a gloomy expression as he rushed frantically in that direction.
Damn it, who is targeting us? And why now of all times? Has someone been watching us from the shadows? It has to be people from the World Government! Damn them!
If the World Government gets their hands on the research data, I won't live much longer either. Lord Judge won't let me off!
Thinking of what would happen if the research materials were taken, Lawrence could not help shuddering. He accelerated once again.
No, I can't let the World Government or the Marines succeed. I have to transfer all the data before they get there!
Before long, Lawrence had arrived near the Oli Family's compound.

The two pistols in Lawrence's hands spun and fired rapidly. He moved so fast that afterimages appeared, and in just a few seconds, more than a dozen Marines were struck and lost their lives.
"Enemy attack! Stay alert!"
"Over there! There's only one person!"
"He's too fast! Open fire and block his movements!"
The Marines had been caught off guard, but they quickly recovered and launched a counterattack.
