"Alliance Master's Wife, are you all right?" Wind Cloud Overlord asked, saber in hand.
"Not really. Many of our sisters were killed..." Luoshen said sorrowfully.
"There's nothing to be done about that. Pull yourselves together. Those still alive should fight to leave together. You lead the way and take everyone out. I'll stay here and hold the rear."
"You'll hold the rear alone?"
"Of course not." Wind Cloud Overlord laughed boldly, wielding the cold gleaming blades in both hands. "I still have my sabers!"
Wind Cloud Overlord's strength was no longer what it had been. He had become far stronger than before he followed Fan Lang, because he now possessed a Temporary System.
This was a new version of the system created by Fan Lang. It resembled the subsystem in some ways, but its key feature was the word "temporary." Like hiring temporary workers, this system could be temporarily implanted into someone's body.
The Temporary System could be transmitted incredibly quickly. Whenever necessary, it could be implanted, activated, and take effect within a very short time.
This simplified system discarded the subsystem's emphasis on surveillance and eradication. It imposed few restrictions on its user and offered great freedom. It could be flexibly implanted and removed, and could even be destroyed in an emergency without leaving behind the slightest trace.
Compared to the subsystem, however, the Temporary System was far less functional and offered much smaller boosts. That was the price of simplification.
Even so, this Temporary System still greatly enhanced a Martial God and remained highly useful.
Besides these two kinds of systems, Fan Lang was developing even more versions, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. All of them would have their uses in the future.
