To an ordinary person, one second was very short. But for the strong, it was different; many things could happen within a single second.

Bai Ze attacked alongside his two clones, pouncing toward the Demonic Path True Scroll with unstoppable momentum, like a holy beast descending from the Buddha's seat into the mortal world.

The Demonic Path True Scroll activated in the nick of time and flung out dozens of Summoning Cards. The Golden Sun War Lion opened its huge mouth to suck them in, but Bai Ze rammed it aside, ruining its plans.

Bai Ze saw through the situation. The more eager the Golden Sun War Lion was to eat, the more determined Bai Ze became to stop it.

Dozens of Summoning Cards flew through the air, fought over by both sides. The Golden Sun War Lion took a deep breath, snatching several cards and swallowing them whole to refine them alive.

As the cards shattered, the demon pets hidden inside emerged, only to suffer utter destruction and become food in the Golden Sun War Lion's belly.

Of the remaining Summoning Cards, some flew off into the distance, while others were devoured by Bai Ze.

All of this happened in only a few seconds.

The Golden Sun War Lion digested the demon beasts in its stomach, but it was still just short. For a Starry Sky Demon Beast like it, breaking through was simply too difficult.

At this point, there were no more demon pets to feed it.

"Damn it, if there's nothing else to eat, then gnaw on Bai Ze! One bite is still a bite! Its flesh and blood are far better than those demon beasts!" Fan Lang cursed furiously and gave the Golden Sun War Lion a mad command.
