In front of an inn near Flame Dragon Academy, two groups stood in a tense confrontation.

This was where several roads intersected. There were usually many passersby, and the inn did excellent business. It was also under Flame Dragon Academy's protection and paid tribute each year.

They wore their respective academy uniforms. Flame Dragon Academy's uniforms were accented with red, while Heavenly Water Saint Academy's were aqua blue. The two sides looked as incompatible as water and fire.

And that was indeed the case.

The difference between them was that—

Flame Dragon Academy specialized in fire-refining arts and ranked foremost in pill refining.

Heavenly Water Saint Academy, on the other hand, excelled at water-refining arts, with weapon forging being its true strength.

Yet the territories of the two academies lay right beside each other, so all manner of comparisons and frictions were unavoidable.

Friction, friction—it was the easiest thing to spark trouble. Over time, while the two sides had never fought any great battles, they had hardly known peace either.

The peace between the two academies depended entirely on their respective leaders keeping things suppressed.

Just moments ago, students from the two academies had run into each other here and gotten into a verbal dispute. They were now about to settle it with force.
