"Who died?"
Shui Linglong's expression turned grave. She raised a hand and calculated the fate of the Heavenly Dao, trying to capture that faint, elusive trail of destiny.
She also took out a Book of Life and Death, which contained the names of her relatives, friends, and important subordinates. Each name bore a trace of a soul imprint. If anyone met with misfortune, the name on it would show an abnormality.
After searching through it, she quickly found the answer.
One name in the Book of Life and Death had been marked with a large red cross.
"Lan Yingyue is dead!"
Shui Linglong abruptly rose to her feet, her pupils contracting as she stared fixedly at the name in the Book of Life and Death.
Lan Yingyue had been one of her right-hand men, a pillar of Heavenly Water Saint Academy.
That blood-red cross meant that Lan Yingyue was dead. There could be no mistake.
Lan Yingyue's death was a tremendous loss, both to Heavenly Water Saint Academy and to Shui Linglong herself.
Shui Linglong felt as though she had lost an arm. It was not grief or sorrow; she simply felt that the loss was far too great.
"How did Lan Yingyue die?"
Shui Linglong made calculations with her fingers, wanting to obtain an answer from the Heavenly Dao, but she failed.
The will of heaven was difficult to predict. Even Mystic Gods could only see the tip of the iceberg and not the whole picture. Especially now, with Shui Linglong's thoughts in turmoil, her calculations were even less accurate.
"I can only determine that she was killed. Many people live in seclusion within Empty Seclusion Valley, and there is no shortage of powerful experts among them. Did those people kill Lan Yingyue, or did Zhao XiaoMan kill her?
