Background

At the beginning of the novel, the forest's Core Area and Lake of Life are the site of a catastrophic lightning tribulation faced by a colossal million-year soul beast. The event establishes the forest as a place capable of concealing beings beyond ordinary human understanding. 1

Ten thousand years earlier, the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python had been the forest's two great overlords before eventually living in seclusion within the Clear Sky Sect. When unfamiliar bloodlines such as Kunpeng and the Void Divine Dragon surfaced, Niu Tian concluded that the modern Star Dou Great Forest was no longer the forest he and Titan had once known. 18 24

The Soul Beast Power Ranking exposed the forest's concealed strength to the continent. Mu En warned that Di Tian was not necessarily its strongest resident and that a million-year existence might be hidden deep within it.
