"Honey! Who is it?"
Zhu Xiaoxiao had already gotten up and was washing up. Hearing Zhang Xuan muttering, she poked her head out.
"Oh, some eccentric old Daoist. He said something about having me build a shelter and save the world."
"An Old Daoist? Save the world?" Zhu Xiaoxiao fell into thought.
A moment later, the two of them sat down to eat.
Knock, knock, knock! The door was knocked on again.
"Hey! Are you done yet?!" Zhang Xuan flared up. He got to his feet, strode to the door, and twisted it open.
"I'm telling you, you—"
"Uh... Zhang Xuan, wh-what's wrong?"
The person standing at the door was not the Old Daoist, but Fu Jingjing.
Zhang Xuan let out a breath, glanced around, then pulled the somewhat bewildered Fu Jingjing inside.
Only after he explained did she finally understand.
Putting that matter aside, she got to her feet, spun around in front of Zhang Xuan, and blinked her big eyes.
"Brother Xuan, look. Am I pretty today?"
Zhang Xuan gave her a glance. "Not bad!"
Fu Jingjing pouted in annoyance. "What do you mean, not bad?"
Zhu Xiaoxiao covered her mouth and laughed.
Fu Jingjing did not stand on ceremony with the food on the table. It was her own man's food, so there was no need to be polite. A moment later, she carried a large bag of food back next door.
"Grandma, come eat!"
After eating and drinking his fill, Zhang Xuan slumped onto the sofa, pondering how to make the sound carry farther and cause a bigger commotion.
Zhu Xiaoxiao sat down beside him and leaned against him. Zhang Xuan wrapped an arm around her and gently inhaled the fragrance of her hair.
"If only there were electricity!"
"Electricity? Find a generator!" Zhu Xiaoxiao replied.
