When Zhang Xuan opened his eyes, he found himself in a lush land filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers.
Beautiful notes from a zither drifted over from afar.
He frowned slightly. "Where is this?"
"Where is my mother?"
"Where is Tang Yao?"
Clang! The zither continued playing.
Zhang Xuan rose to his feet and flew toward the sound.
A moment later, he arrived at a lake. A pavilion stood in the center, and the zither music came from within it.
There was a small island in the middle of the lake, with several towering trees growing upon it. Their dense leaves concealed the pavilion, leaving only a few roof tiles visible.
After hesitating with a frown for a moment, Zhang Xuan slowly drifted onto the island and landed on a branch of one of the towering trees.
Only then did he see what was happening inside the pavilion.
A graceful woman in a pale pink Star Pattern Long Dress sat on a stone stool, her fingers brushing an ancient zither on the stone table that glowed with Azure Light.
Sensing someone approach, the zither music abruptly stopped. With a clang, the woman turned around, and a string attack shot like a sword toward Zhang Xuan on the tree branch.
Zhang Xuan darted aside, leaving the branch.
Crash! The string attack sliced off the entire branch, sending it crashing to the ground.
"Who are you?" The woman's voice was clear, cool, and aloof.
Floating in the air, Zhang Xuan frowned faintly before descending with a smile.
"Greetings, miss."
"Who are you? Why are you spying on me again?" The woman stared intently at Zhang Xuan, her brows tightly furrowed and her expression wary. Both hands rested on the strings, ready to attack at any moment.
"Do not be nervous. I mean
