Inside the ice cave, thunderous rumbles echoed as a man and woman chased and fought each other.
"Lecher, you defiled my innocence! I'll kill you!"
"It wasn't what you think! I was really treating you!"
The man and woman were Zhang Xuan and Qing Lan. They had fought and chased each other for quite a while before strange noises from outside the cave finally made them stop.
"Shh! Stop! Don't make a sound."
Zhang Xuan frowned, his gaze fixed on the cave entrance.
Qing Lan's raised palm came down beside Zhang Xuan. She, too, frowned and stared intently ahead.
Outside, booming sounds rang out like an avalanche. Four enormous white-furred beasts emerged from the White Expanse, stomping the ground and raising their heads in furious roars.
They leaped forward and landed outside the strange ice cave where Zhang Xuan and the others were. Lowering their heads to sniff, they seemed to discover something and roared again, yet they feared the cave and did not dare enter.
Qing Lan seemed to think of something, her face filling with shock as she exhaled through red lips. "Th-this is the cry of an Ice Nether Beast."
"Ice Nether Beasts?" Zhang Xuan turned to look at her, his brows knitting slightly.
Qing Lan first glared at Zhang Xuan, then explained, leaving him deep in thought.
After a while, he looked at Qing Lan again. "Wait here. I'll go out and take a look."
Hearing that, Qing Lan hurriedly grabbed Zhang Xuan. "Don't, don't go out. Ice Nether Beasts are very strong. You're no match for them. Going out would be no different from throwing your life away."
Zhang Xuan smiled teasingly. "Are you worried about me?"
"Wh-who's worried about you? Go if you want." Qing Lan immediately released Zhang Xuan and turned away.
