Their expressions and gazes were filled with arrogance and gloom. Zi Zhen already knew exactly what kind of people they were.
Yet among these twenty-odd ninth-rank prison guards, there was also a ghostly god!
Before Zi Zhen arrived, he seemed to have been the only ghostly god here.
He was an exceptionally burly male ghostly god even within the Guan Zizai Realm, fitting everyone's usual image of one. His skin was pitch-black and heavy like armor, with plenty of stiff black fur across his body. His muscles bulged in knots, his frame was massive, his stench was overpowering, and he seemed like man and beast fused into one.
Most distinctive of all, though he had a humanoid body, he possessed a huge boar's head, eyes round as bronze bells, and two enormous tusks.
As he stepped forward to meet Zi Zhen, the ghostly god was still stuffing mouthful after mouthful of Chaos Star Beast meat into his mouth. Blood dripped as he ate. His gaze fixed on Zi Zhen, scorching, bold, savage, and utterly devoid of respect.
Clearly, it was not just this boar-headed ghostly god. The deputy prison guard chief, Gu Huo, the other prison guards, and Si Fangyin had all been briefed beforehand and assigned their tasks. Naturally, they did not believe Zi Zhen was some important figure being kept in a golden house, and were therefore particularly unrestrained at heart.
The ordinary jailers, on the other hand, did not know the full truth. They were still making guesses among themselves, unable to be certain.
"This pig-head is called Kuang Lie. We've fought side by side for many years! He's practically my own brother!" The boar-headed ghostly god said nothing. Deputy prison guard chief Gu Huo suddenly rapped him hard on the head, then grinned at Zi Zhen.
