To obtain the Blissful Land True Inheritance, they had to accept the various missions on the obelisk. Upon completing them, they would earn merit. The more merit they had, the more valuable the items they could exchange for.
If they did not accept these terms, the Gu Immortals could only sit idly on this small island. They could not leave or go anywhere else in the Grotto-Heaven World.
