Those Unwilling to Remain Ordinary

Chapter Three, Section Eighteen of The Legend of Human Ancestor.

Human Ancestor set foot upon a life path that belonged to him alone, escaping the Gate of Life and Death, only to end up stranded in the Abyss of the Ordinary.

He wandered along the bottom of the abyss, moving forward in confusion. After a very, very long time, he wanted to leave the Abyss of the Ordinary, yet he could never find a way out.

In his misery, Thought Gu showed him the way: "Human, human, you walk along the footprints trampled out by other existences. That may certainly be easy and safe, but if you wish to be extraordinary, if you wish to leave the Abyss of the Ordinary, then blindly following others' paths will likely offer little chance. Since you have taken your own life path, you must overcome every trial yourself, you must innovate, and you must leave your own footprints."

Having received this guidance, Human Ancestor suddenly saw the light and was overjoyed, so he followed Thought Gu's advice.

He left behind the footprints already present upon the ground and began setting foot upon terrain with no solid footing.

The floor of the Abyss of the Ordinary was difficult to traverse.

Some places were muddy swamps, where one could easily sink in too deep and be choked by the stench. Some places were thick with thorns, their spikes packed as densely as hemp, leaving Human Ancestor covered in wounds. In other places, Blade Gu were buried beneath the ground. When Human Ancestor stepped upon them, the sharp edges sliced open the soles of his feet, leaving broad wounds and blood flowing freely. Every step hurt straight to his heart.

The pain from the wounds on his feet made Human Ancestor decide to walk softly.
