"So, what exactly do you want?" Qin Ze looked dumbfoundedly at the second-generation heirs before him. There were quite a few of them, eleven or twelve. Their cars were fairly ordinary, but if he had not recognized several familiar faces, who would have guessed this bunch were heirs with influence reaching everywhere?
He had been minding his own business by the roadside when several cars passed by. A woman inside one of them recognized him and called out, "Qin Ze."
Then the cars stopped, and a crowd surged over, blocking him by the roadside.
No one answered his question. One tall, burly guy said, "Zhao Tiezhu said he was standing outside the Wang family home admitting his mistakes. I didn't believe it, but it's true."
Qin Ze knew this guy. When he had first visited the Wang family, Wang Zijing had brought him along for barbecue. He had genuinely forgotten the guy's name. He had meant to build up his connections, but Sea Ze King had been throwing his weight around in Shanghai City and enjoying himself too much to bother expanding into the Beijing market. Wang Zijing's circle of connections had therefore gone to waste. He had made a proper memo, with everyone's names in it, but checking his phone now would seem particularly disrespectful.
"Hey, want to go inside?" a woman said. "Call me Auntie, and this big sister will take you in."
Qin Ze frowned. It was not because he disliked the woman's attitude. From her perspective, helping her bestie mock a scumbag was perfectly reasonable. It was just that the word "big sister" was a sensitive term to him. Big sister = sex.
Translating what she had just said... wasn't that demand a little too excessive?
Then I choose not to go in.
