Background / History

Su Yu is the daughter of entrepreneur Su Tong. Her parents’ marriage collapsed after she learned that her father had an illegitimate son, Su Hao; following the divorce, Su Tong married Su Hao’s mother and brought them into the family home. Su Yu felt excluded from the new household, where her stepmother mistreated her in private and Su Hao regarded her as a threat to his inheritance. 210
