Amid that chaotic flight, Chu Fei and the Elf Empress could only cling to each other to protect themselves. Chu Fei continuously supplied energy and handled the inner defensive layer, while the Empress was responsible for the outer layer, bearing most of the pressure.
The "roots" wrapping around Chu Fei and the Elf Empress seemed to have loosened slightly under the external attacks, but they were still not something Chu Fei and the Elf Empress could break through.
The main issue was that the Elf Empress could not contact the outside world or draw upon the hidden power within Elf Race territory.
The Elf Empress was already somewhat exhausted. Although Chu Fei could provide some energy, it did not seem sufficient. More precisely, while the energy Chu Fei supplied was very pure, it was not a perfect match.
