Why was this eerie world named the "Despair Glacier"?

Because it truly drove people to despair.

First were the indestructible snowmen, ice men, and other bizarre "lifeforms"—though no one knew whether they could even be called lifeforms. In any case, only the methods of True Gods could truly destroy them, yet most of these snowmen possessed abilities below 16.0, below even those of low-level gods!

Using True Gods to kill little monsters weaker than low-level gods was the very definition of using a cannon to kill mosquitoes. Yet they had no choice but to do it!

Every such passage required "at least" one True God to guard it. No, at least two, because one True God had to stand guard for ten Dragon Years, then rest for another ten Dragon Years. In a world filled everywhere with "poisonous gas," anyone below the True God level possessed almost no combat power—it was difficult enough just to protect themselves! Taking the initiative to attack was simply out of the question.

That was the second layer of despair.

Third, Despair Glacier and similar eerie worlds possessed powerful assimilative effects.

For example, the fortress built here had to maintain a barrier and fight continuously, consuming enormous amounts of energy every moment. Yet that energy
