On Monday, during the morning run, Chu Fei saw Li Honggang and Lu Hong bouncing around full of energy.
"Did they really let those two off?"
Chu Fei was a little curious, but that was all.
He had set himself a small goal yesterday: a Potential Index of 7.75.
He was still below 7.6. He had to keep pushing!
Chu Fei still came first in the morning run. Lu Hong snatched second place, and Li Honggang took third, followed by Zhang Shaojie and Zhang Xuan.
The previous morning run rankings had been: Chu Fei, Zhang Shaojie, Zhang Xuan, Li Honggang, Lu Hong.
So Zhang Shaojie and Zhang Xuan got whipped.
See? That was the price of competing too hard. In the end, the one who got hurt was always yourself.
At breakfast, Chu Fei heard some gossip. Apparently, Zhao Xiaofeng had been taken away by four old men the previous night and was not sent back until bedtime. He had become much quieter afterward.
While they were talking, Chu Fei "happened" to run into Zhao Xiaofeng.
Well, Zhao Xiaofeng had deliberately walked past Chu Fei. He gave Chu Fei a deep look, then walked away.
Chu Fei watched Zhao Xiaofeng's retreating back and frowned slightly, but ultimately said nothing.
Li Honggang and Lu Hong were unbelievably well-behaved today. It was not until class ended that evening that Li Honggang came up to Chu Fei and cautiously asked:
"Chu Fei, yesterday you said you'd lead everyone in reviewing what we learned before tonight. What time will it start, and what time will it end?"
The surrounding students all turned to look at Chu Fei.
Chu Fei looked around and smiled. "We'll start at 18:00 and finish at 19:00, so it won't affect everyone's homework or self-study. What do you think?"
The students all agreed.
Rather than heading straight to the cafeteria, Chu Fei first went to Cao Liwen's office to ask for permission.
Dawn Academy's educational system had been developing for more than thirty years. It might have been more than a little cruel, but it was not something he could casually criticize.
Sure enough, Cao Liwen set boundaries for Chu Fei. "Those lesson preparation notebooks cover material that has already been taught. You can look through them. Remember, you may only lead everyone in reviewing material that has already been covered."
Asking for advice came with a surprise!
That phrase flashed through Chu Fei's mind. He rushed over to a stack of lesson preparation notebooks in a few quick strides.
The notebooks contained the teachers' thought processes!!!
Those thought processes were no less important than the textbooks themselves.
Through them, Chu Fei could not only fully integrate everything he had learned before, but also discover quite a few gaps and oversights.
During the process of learning and accumulating knowledge, especially while forming a three-dimensional network of knowledge, no one could claim that their mastery was flawless.
The sheer volume of scientific knowledge was beyond imagination.
With just one glance, Chu Fei became immersed in it. Before he knew it, he had finished an entire lesson preparation notebook—and had actually accumulated a drop of Wisdom Dewdrop!
There was not much new content in the notebook, yet it provided the finishing touch.
The knowledge he normally studied was not scarce, but it was somewhat scattered. Like a net, there were inevitably breaks in the middle.
Now, those breaks had been filled in, forming a complete net—a net of knowledge!
After thinking for a moment, Chu Fei realized something deeper. It isn't just about filling in the breaks. More importantly, it's about identifying them! Before this, I didn't even know those breaks existed.
A story flashed through Chu Fei's mind: a physicist drew a line on the outside of a faulty motor and charged the equivalent of an ordinary person's hundred years of wages. Drawing the line was simple, but knowing where to draw it was difficult.
And more often than not, we could not even detect the fault!
If you could not discover the fault, how could you repair it?
After pondering for a moment, Chu Fei turned and saw that Cao Liwen was still there. He immediately asked, "Teacher, how can I discover problems that are difficult for me to notice?"
Cao Liwen had been observing Chu Fei. When he heard the question, he was momentarily stunned as well.
After thinking for a moment, Cao Liwen asked in return, "If you wanted to know a combat vehicle's flaws, what do you think you should do?"
"Extreme overload testing, perhaps even destructive testing."
"Knowledge is the same. Use limited knowledge to try and solve unlimited problems.
"There are many test papers here. You can try using lower-level knowledge to answer higher-level exams."
"I understand. Thank you, Teacher."
Cao Liwen nodded slightly. "Come on. It's time to eat."
Only then did Chu Fei realize that he had delayed them for quite a while, even holding up Cao Liwen's dinner.
After hurriedly eating dinner, Chu Fei went to learn whip techniques from the four old men.
Old Man A looked helpless. "You've already learned everything. All that remains is practice and accumulation."
As he spoke, he handed Chu Fei a two-meter whip and pointed at a tall Chinese parasol tree nearby. "Attack it fifty times first. I'll watch from the side."
"Alright!"
Chu Fei stared at the Chinese parasol tree, his gaze sharp, but Cao Liwen's words were what filled his mind.
Overload testing!
His body bent slightly. Everything he had previously learned about Human Mechanics, Human Engineering, and even some techniques for exerting force that he had learned from Huang Gang and Dawn Team flashed through his mind.
The next moment, Chu Fei's arm trembled slightly, and the long whip suddenly went taut.
"Whoosh..."
The sound of tearing fabric rang through the air as the long whip struck down like lightning.
Splinters flew from the soft Chinese parasol wood, leaving behind a foot-long dent.
The old man took a look and said flatly, "The power is fine, but there isn't enough variation. You're using it too rigidly, which instead causes the force to disperse."
Chu Fei thought for several seconds before launching his second attack, once again putting all his strength into it. This time, the dent was less than twenty centimeters long, but it was deeper.
The old man could not help glancing at Chu Fei before continuing his critique. "An improvement, but your wrist is too stiff."
After thinking for a moment, Chu Fei attacked with full force again.
Again and again, under the limits of testing, every strike revealed a problem.
But the frenzied attacks also left Chu Fei's arms sore and weak. Before he had even struck twenty times, his waist and back were already aching.
The old man calmly said, "Switch to your left hand!"
His left hand was somewhat clumsy, but Chu Fei still gritted his teeth and continued practicing.
Every bit of effort today was capital for survival tomorrow.
Chu Fei worked so hard that the old man scrutinized him with equal rigor, picking out every problem one by one.
Half an hour later, the old man sighed. "There's really nothing left for us to teach you."
Chu Fei returned the whip and asked, "Then can I still come here to practice?"
"Of course. We agreed on one month, and there are still two weeks left."
Chu Fei took two steps away, then suddenly turned back and asked, "What price would I have to pay to learn your ultimate techniques?"
The four old men were stunned for a moment. After discussing it, Old Man A said, "Ten thousand yuan and two months of instruction."
Chu Fei frowned.
Before Chu Fei could ask, Old Man B said, "We used to be prison guards. Our ultimate techniques are prison guard techniques.
"Ordinary whip techniques can be learned outside as well. But you can't learn our ultimate techniques anywhere else."
Chu Fei pondered for a while, then asked, "How about one bottle of Superbrain Potion?"
"The wholesale price of Superbrain Potion is three thousand, and its factory price is even lower."
Chu Fei froze for a moment, then said gloomily, "I'll think about it."
I knew there was a lot of padding in investment valuations, but I never expected it to be enough to flood the whole mountain!
