Chu Fei stared at the questions on the display, lost in thought.
They looked like just a few simple questions, with only a handful of simple keywords, yet the knowledge involved behind them was anything but trivial.
Based on his own knowledge, Chu Fei could answer only a very small portion of them, and even that felt like a stretch.
Cao Liwen clearly had not expected Chu Fei to answer. He was merely giving him time to think before beginning his explanation:
"Let's start with the most basic concept: genetic mutation.
Under normal circumstances, genetic mutations are random. Then, due to the natural environment, survival conditions, and so on, unsuitable mutants are eliminated, leaving only beneficial genes behind.
Life continuously mutates, is continuously culled, and continuously accumulates changes, eventually producing superior life forms.
That is the general relationship between genetic mutation and evolution.
To this end, early evolutionary thought proposed a theory known as: Survival of the Fittest.
But now we know that this statement actually has major problems.
Because it cannot explain one crucial question: Why do humans look the way we do?
If it truly is survival of the fittest, then why are our retinas inverted?
Why are our temples so vulnerable?
Why does the recurrent laryngeal nerve have to loop around the heart, taking such an unnecessary detour?
Why don't we have wings, echolocation, or infrared vision?
And so on.
There are far too many unreasonable aspects of the human body. Every single one is a challenge to the Theory of Evolution.
Could the Theory of Evolution be wrong?
Try answering that. Just say whatever comes to mind."
Chu Fei thought for a moment and said, "I don't think the Theory of Evolution is wrong. Looking at the big picture, life did indeed evolve, and it is
