A Head-On Clash with the Inspector

The last few lines of the previous chapter were poorly written and have been revised.

Chu Fei had originally been advancing cautiously, while Yan Xiaolong searched for prey like an eagle. The moment their paths crossed, Chu Fei gave a start and immediately turned to run in the opposite direction. Yan Xiaolong reacted quickly as well, stopping at once, turning around, and launching into a frenzied pursuit.

Their speeds instantly broke the sound barrier, and the shockwaves from their supersonic flight shook loose the weathered rock walls nearby.

Yan Xiaolong, pursuing from behind, frowned slightly. He easily dodged the larger boulders, swept aside the smaller ones, and simply rammed through the tiniest fragments with his Protective Aura.

Neither of them unfolded their wings. They relied solely on their legs to sprint.

Chu Fei ran around the solitary peaks, repeatedly using shockwaves to batter the rock faces. Occasionally, he slashed the cliffs with his longsword, causing great sheets of rock to collapse.

But Yan Xiaolong soon shot into the air, avoiding the falling rubble as he accelerated toward Chu Fei.

Yan Xiaolong was, after all, an established powerhouse, and he was faster. The distance between them rapidly shrank from more than two hundred meters to less than a hundred.

At that moment, Chu Fei "saw" Yan Xiaolong raise his right arm through Electromagnetic Perception. It was unmistakably a Mechanical Arm.

Its palm faced Chu Fei, and a powerful electromagnetic field erupted.

A dazzling, blinding beam grazed Chu Fei's shoulder and streaked past, leaving a searing trail across the rock. The powerful energy attack directly vaporized the stone.

This energy attack far surpassed an ordinary Energy Gun. Judging by its intensity, it could probably be called an Energy Cannon.
