Ch. 242Chiyo and Sasori

Chiyo cared for Gaara at the Hidden Sand Village’s main camp and tried to cheer him with her puppets, but a puppet-controlled Sand Ninja ambush interrupted them. Sasori arrived with the Third Kazekage puppet and declared that he would take Gaara, then prepared to fight Chiyo.

  • Chiyo considered Ebizo’s suggestion that the Hidden Sand Village surrender, but she remained committed to defending it.
  • Chiyo comforted Gaara and made him laugh by using the Chikamatsu Ten Puppets to perform for him.
  • Puppet-controlled Sand Ninja attacked Chiyo and Gaara, and Chiyo’s puppets killed them while protecting the pair.
  • Chiyo sensed another attack and used Father and Mother to shield Gaara from the Third Kazekage puppet’s Iron Sand Shower.
  • Sasori entered the tent, revealed that he controlled the Third Kazekage, and said he had come to take Gaara.
  • Chiyo confronted Sasori, who summoned the Red Secret Technique: Performance of a Hundred Puppets.

Ch. 243Orochimaru Steals Obito Away

Sasori defeated Chiyo and took Gaara, but the White Zetsu Army suddenly turned on him, disrupting Obito’s plan to capture the One-Tail Jinchuriki. Orochimaru arrived with Konoha reinforcements, while Ingetsu and Konan reached the Land of Earth.

  • Sasori defeated Chiyo’s puppets, restrained her, and persuaded Gaara to come with him by promising to spare his grandmother.
  • White Zetsu units suddenly attacked Sasori and Gaara, while Tobi discovered that an unknown spiritual will had been implanted in some of them.
  • Obito suspected Uchiha Ingetsu was controlling the frenzied White Zetsu, but he could not reach Sasori through the surrounding army.
  • A Konoha force led by an Impure World Reincarnation Uchiha arrived, and Orochimaru ordered the Sound Four and Kimimaro to rescue Gaara.
  • Ingetsu confirmed to Konan that they had reached the Land of Earth.

Ch. 244Onoki Calls for Help

Ingetsu’s flight over the Land of Earth coincided with Deidara’s explosive attack on Iwagakure, where Ōnoki saved Kurotsuchi from a hidden bomb. Ōnoki then met Ingetsu aboard Susanoo and pleaded for help saving Iwagakure.

  • Ingetsu sensed explosions in Iwagakure and decided to continue toward Hidden Sand Village, trusting Ōnoki to handle the disturbance.
  • Ōnoki learned that Deidara had betrayed the village, gathered Rōshi and Han under false pretenses, and planted clay bombs throughout Iwagakure.
  • Kurotsuchi found a bomb outside Ōnoki’s office, and Ōnoki rescued her from its blast with Dust Release.
  • Ōnoki took Kurotsuchi into the sky to meet Ingetsu and discovered the Lightning Shadow and the Two-Tails and Eight-Tails Jinchuriki inside Susanoo.
  • Ōnoki asked Ingetsu to lend his aid and save Iwagakure.

Ch. 245Power from Beyond the Ninja World

Ingetsu learned that Deidara’s attack on Iwagakure was tied to forces beyond the Akatsuki and revealed that an enemy from beyond the Ninja World was involved. He urged Iwagakure to abandon the Land of Earth and ended by proposing that they find Deidara first.

  • Ōnoki begged Ingetsu to help Iwagakure and explained that Deidara had lured the Four-Tails and Five-Tails Jinchuriki away from the village.
  • Ingetsu concluded that Deidara could not have caused the devastation alone and said the attack involved forces controlling the Akatsuki and another power.
  • Mabui realized Ingetsu was contending with a separate threat to the Ninja World, and Ingetsu identified that threat as a force from beyond it.
  • Ingetsu advised Iwagakure to abandon its village and the Land of Earth for the Land of Fire, but Kurotsuchi objected and Ōnoki admitted he could not order the migration.
  • Ingetsu told the others that someone would make the decision for them and said they should find Deidara first.

Ch. 246Before setting out.

Yinyue and Ōnoki searched for Deidara after realizing that his strange behavior might mean someone else had taken control of him. They found him with White Zetsu near the devastated Iwagakure, where Yinyue sensed that Deidara’s vast Spiritual World belonged to an Otsutsuki.

  • Yinyue questioned Ōnoki and Kurotsuchi about Deidara’s recent behavior, and their answers suggested that he had been investigating Iwagakure’s defenses and infrastructure.
  • Ōnoki led Yinyue and the others south toward the traces Deidara had left behind, while worrying about the threat to the Ninja World and Iwagakure’s future.
  • Deidara’s other self gloated over the explosions devastating Iwagakure, while the original Deidara struggled with guilt and sank into his Spiritual World.
  • The other Deidara led White Zetsu away from the mountain, but paused when he noticed Yinyue’s dark-red radiance in the sky.
  • Yinyue located Deidara and connected their spiritual forces; he sensed that Deidara’s immense Spiritual World marked him as an Otsutsuki.

Ch. 247Onoki’s Choice

Ingetsu identified the force controlling Deidara as Ōtsutsuki Momoshiki, who revealed his Karma power and fought back against Ōnoki. Ōnoki began battling Momoshiki to rescue his disciple while Konan set out to locate the Four-Tails and Five-Tails Jinchuriki.

  • Ingetsu recognized Momoshiki behind Deidara's transformation, and Momoshiki confirmed that Deidara's body was only a vessel for his Karma.
  • Momoshiki activated Karma, revealing his Ōtsutsuki features, while Ingetsu allowed Ōnoki to confront him and assigned Konan to search for the Four-Tails and Five-Tails Jinchuriki.
  • Konan sent paper cranes across the land, and Ōnoki left the Susanoo to face Momoshiki as Kurotsuchi worried about her grandfather.
  • Momoshiki destroyed the White Zetsu attacking him with his Crimson Spiral technique.
  • Ōnoki summoned a stone giant, but Momoshiki's Ape Rock smashed it, so Ōnoki used Dust Release to annihilate Ape Rock.
  • Ōnoki fired a second Dust Release attack at Momoshiki.

Ch. 248The One I Was After Was an Otsutsuki

Ōnoki’s Dust Release was absorbed and amplified by Momoshiki, but Ingetsu saved him and trapped the enemy inside a Four Red Yang Formation. Ingetsu confronted Momoshiki, revealed his knowledge of the Otsutsuki, and struck him down, leaving him to reclaim Deidara’s body.

  • Momoshiki used Takami Musubi to absorb Ōnoki’s Dust Release and unleash it at vastly increased power, leaving Ōnoki on the verge of death.
  • Ingetsu blocked the beam with Wood Release: Wood Dragon Technique, then sealed Momoshiki’s mountain inside a Four Red Yang Formation while Ōnoki returned to Susanoo.
  • Ingetsu confronted Momoshiki and learned that he could use Takami Musubi only once after occupying Deidara’s body.
  • Momoshiki attacked Ingetsu, but Ingetsu entered Sage Mode, evaded his perception, and used a Natural Energy clone to create an opening.
  • Ingetsu exploited Shinra Tensei’s cooldown to hit Momoshiki with a Natural Energy sphere, making him lose control of Deidara’s body.

Ch. 249The Hidden Rock Village Is Destroyed

Ingetsu captured Deidara and discovered that Momoshiki had planted a devastating explosive in Iwagakure, destroying a third of the village. He then found that Momoshiki had sealed the Four-Tails and Five-Tails into Deidara’s Karma and began pulling them out, leaving Momoshiki panicked about being absorbed too.

  • Ingetsu captured Deidara, reunited with Ōnoki and Kurotsuchi, and searched Deidara’s memories for the missing Jinchuriki.
  • Ingetsu discovered that Momoshiki had planted a powerful explosive in Iwagakure, and it detonated, destroying the village’s central area and killing many people.
  • Ōnoki mourned Iwagakure’s destruction as Kurotsuchi fainted, while Deidara and Momoshiki taunted Ingetsu.
  • Ingetsu reviewed Deidara’s memories and learned that Momoshiki had defeated the Four-Tails and Five-Tails Jinchuriki and sealed both Tailed Beasts into Deidara’s Karma.
  • Ingetsu opened his Tailed Beast Space and began pulling the Tailed Beasts and Karma from Deidara, frightening Momoshiki.

Ch. 250Yin Yue’s Spiritual World

Ingetsu drew the Four-Tails, Five-Tails, and Momoshiki’s Karma into his Tailed Beast Space, where the beasts learned they could not escape or withhold their Chakra. Momoshiki then entered Ingetsu’s Spiritual World to seize control, but discovered Ingetsu’s overwhelming mental strength had trapped him, and Ingetsu returned to normal outside.

  • Ingetsu absorbed the Four-Tails, Five-Tails, and Momoshiki’s Karma into his Tailed Beast Space without harming Deidara.
  • The Tailed Beasts confronted Momoshiki’s Karma, and the Eight-Tails and Six-Tails explained that Ingetsu’s space forced them to supply Chakra and offered no route to escape.
  • Momoshiki’s Karma left the Tailed Beast Space through a tunnel that led into Ingetsu, triggering strange markings and blue light across Ingetsu’s body.
  • Momoshiki entered Ingetsu’s Spiritual World and merged with it, believing he had taken control of Ingetsu’s mind.
  • Ingetsu revealed the immense scale of his Spiritual World, overwhelmed Momoshiki’s Karma, and confined it in a mental prison.
  • Ingetsu’s markings vanished as he returned to his normal appearance.

Ch. 251Knowing that Ingetsu had returned to normal, Konan's tense expression finally eased. She tentatively asked: "Ing... Ingetsu?"

After Momoshiki’s destruction of Iwagakure, Ingetsu arranged for Konoha to absorb the Land of Earth and its people, then prepared to travel to the Hidden Sand Village. As Ōnoki grieved among Iwagakure’s ruins, the Lightning Shadow asked Ingetsu whether he had known the Ninja World’s future.

  • Ingetsu reassured Konan and told Ōnoki to migrate Iwagakure’s people to Konoha, promising to arrange their resettlement.
  • Ingetsu ordered Nanfeng, Izumi, and Tamao to lead their forces into the Land of Earth, incorporate Iwagakure, and capture the daimyo.
  • Nanfeng announced the mission, and the Konoha force marched toward the Land of Earth while Tamao rode Reanimated Danzo.
  • Ingetsu instructed the Uchiha elders to draft resettlement plans for the Land of Earth and said he would next head to the Hidden Sand Village.
  • Ōnoki left Kurotsuchi in Ingetsu’s care, then knelt in grief before Iwagakure’s ruins as surviving Stone Shinobi helped him up.
  • The Lightning Shadow approached Ingetsu in Susanoo’s cockpit and asked whether he had known the Ninja World’s future.

Ch. 252Chains of Hatred

Ingetsu secured Cloud Village’s cooperation, extracted Two Tails from Yugito Nii, and learned that Orochimaru’s forces had stopped the enemy from taking Gaara. In the Wind Country, Sasori fought Hatake Sakumo and Might Duy while Obito ordered a retreat, and Orochimaru waited for Ingetsu to arrive.

  • Ingetsu told the Lightning Shadow that the invader was real, confirmed that Cloud Village was being taken over, and extracted Two Tails from Yugito Nii.
  • Orochimaru reported that his forces had protected Gaara from capture, though his White Zetsu army had been wiped out.
  • Sasori’s fight against the Reanimated Ninja brought him face-to-face with Hatake Sakumo, whom he blamed for the chain of hatred that had shaped his life.
  • Sasori killed Might Duy’s Reanimation Body and overpowered Sakumo, while Chiyo watched in distress.
  • Obito ordered his forces to retreat, but Sasori refused to leave, and Orochimaru waited for Ingetsu to appear.

Ch. 253A Deal with Chiyo

Ingetsu arrived on the desert battlefield inside a Complete Body Susanoo, having used Mabui’s Heavenly Transfer Technique with his Tailed Beast Chakra sustaining her. He arranged for Chiyo to treat the unconscious ninjas, struck a deal to capture Sasori, and approached him with Konan.

  • Ingetsu descended onto the battlefield in his Complete Body Susanoo, stunning the Konoha force, Sasori, Orochimaru, Chiyo, and Ebizo.
  • Mabui collapsed after teleporting the Susanoo, and Ingetsu carried her from the cockpit while learning that the living members of his force had suffered no casualties.
  • Ingetsu asked Chiyo to treat Mabui and Yugito Nii while he went to capture her grandson Sasori; Konan and Killer B also left unconscious Kurotsuchi and Deidara in Chiyo’s care.
  • Chiyo recognized the Fourth Raikage among Ingetsu’s companions and realized that Ingetsu had captured him and taken control of Kumogakure’s group.
  • Ingetsu and Konan crossed the battlefield to confront Sasori, who taunted Konan about her departure from Akatsuki and questioned Ingetsu’s interest in Chiyo.

Ch. 254Catching Scorpions

Ingetsu defeated Sasori by dismantling his puppets, overwhelming his defenses with Wood Release, and removing his Regeneration Core. He returned Sasori to Chiyo in a new puppet body, and she recognized him.

  • Obito watched the battlefield from afar, realized Ingetsu could teleport through space, and decided to find Black Zetsu and another ally.
  • Ingetsu faced Sasori’s hundred puppets while Konan withdrew to watch, and he severed their Chakra threads and destroyed several elite puppets.
  • Ingetsu pinned Hiruko underground and unleashed Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence, which shattered the Third Kazekage’s Sand Iron defenses and trapped Sasori’s puppets.
  • Ingetsu struck Sasori’s puppet body, pierced his chest, and removed his Regeneration Core.
  • Ingetsu placed Sasori’s Regeneration Core in a damaged puppet and brought him to Chiyo, who recognized him as her grandson.

Ch. 255Sunagakure Surrenders

Ingetsu defeated Sasori and secured Sunagakure’s surrender, assigning Orochimaru to take control of the village and the Wind Country. He took Gaara into his care and promised to remove the One-Tail without harming him.

  • Ingetsu removed Sasori’s Regeneration Core, and Chiyo sealed Sasori inside a scroll after briefly embracing the core.
  • Ingetsu announced that Konoha would attack Sunagakure and dismantle the Wind Country’s government, but Ebizo revealed that Sunagakure had already prepared a surrender document.
  • Chiyo, Ebizo, and Gaara knelt before Ingetsu, and Chiyo formally petitioned for Sunagakure’s surrender.
  • Ingetsu ordered Orochimaru to take over Sunagakure and the Wind Country, while the Konoha forces reorganized and marched out.
  • Chiyo entrusted Gaara, the One-Tail Jinchuriki, to Ingetsu, who promised he would not be mistreated and could become a normal child again.

Ch. 256Absorbing the One-Tail

Ingetsu absorbed Shukaku from Gaara and took his group toward Takigakure to capture the Seven-Tails, while warning them that the Otsutsuki posed a future threat. The chapter ended with Momoshiki’s Karma Body trying to recruit Ingetsu from within his Spiritual Prison.

  • Ingetsu brought Gaara and the others aboard his Susanoo and flew north toward Takigakure, where he planned to capture the Seven-Tails.
  • Ingetsu told Konan and the others that the enemy they had encountered was an incarnation created through Karma, and that the Otsutsuki main bodies would surpass even him.
  • Ingetsu assured Gaara that his siblings would be safe, then removed Shukaku from him and absorbed the One-Tail into Tailed Beast Space.
  • Gaara fell asleep in relief, while Shukaku found the other Tailed Beasts waiting inside Tailed Beast Space.
  • Ingetsu entered his Spiritual World, where Momoshiki’s Karma Body offered to work with him.

Ch. 257Savior of the Shinobi World

Ingetsu moved Momoshiki’s Karma body from the Spiritual World into the Prison Space to prevent him from probing the outside world. Momoshiki was subdued by Tobirama, then learned that Ingetsu was preparing the Ninja World for threats from beyond the heavens.

  • Momoshiki warned Ingetsu that Karma could eventually let him decipher and take over Ingetsu’s body, but Ingetsu said he would not give him time.
  • Ingetsu guided Momoshiki through the spaces inside his body and sealed him in the Prison Space with Hashirama, Tobirama, and Minato.
  • Momoshiki found that his Karma abilities did not work in the Prison Space and insulted the others, prompting Tobirama to punch and restrain him with Minato’s help.
  • Ingetsu told the prisoners that Momoshiki came from beyond the heavens and asked them to cooperate because the Ninja World faced a greater threat than they imagined.
  • Hashirama and Tobirama realized that Ingetsu’s preparations were meant to protect the Ninja World and that the rogue ninja they had opposed was its savior.

Ch. 258How to Use the Wedge

Ingetsu drew on Momoshiki's Karma, suppressed its autonomous functions, and used its Otsutsuki power to greatly enhance his Complete Body Susanoo. Meanwhile, Uchiha Hikari and Kushina pursued Kisame and Black Zetsu after they attacked Leaf Village, and Black Zetsu escaped underground, leaving Kisame behind.

  • Ingetsu borrowed the Otsutsuki Source Chakra within Momoshiki's Karma and merged it into his body while suppressing the Karma's autonomous behavior.
  • Ingetsu infused the Susanoo with the borrowed Chakra, enlarging and strengthening it before flying onward at greater speed.
  • A White Zetsu Army attacked Leaf Village, but Uchiha Hikari used the Complete Body Susanoo to turn the battle around and drive the attackers toward the village border.
  • Uchiha Hikari and Kushina Uzumaki chased Kisame and Black Zetsu through the forest, and Hikari burned through a White Zetsu Wood Release wall with Amaterasu.
  • Kisame stopped to face his pursuers, but Black Zetsu said it had more important business and sank into the ground, abandoning him.

Ch. 259Light vs. Kisame

Hikari defeated Kisame after he attacked the Leaf Village, captured him, and brought him to the Capital Fortress, where he was assigned to guard the gate. Kisame then sensed another powerful presence beneath the Fortress, and Hanzo looked toward its core energy chamber.

  • Zetsu abandoned Kisame, who fought Hikari and Kushina with a massive water barrier and thousands of sharks.
  • Hikari overwhelmed Kisame with Great Fire Annihilation, subdued him with her Mangekyo Sharingan, and took him to the ninja village.
  • Zetsu watched Hikari leave with Kisame and concluded that the Akatsuki had fallen apart before heading off to contact someone about rescuing Mother.
  • At the Capital Fortress, Kushina recounted Hikari's victory while Hikari ate dinner with Mikoto and the others.
  • Kisame spoke with Hanzo and Zabuza while guarding the Fortress gate, then revealed he had sensed another powerful presence there.
  • Hanzo denied that the presence had been his and turned toward the Fortress's core energy chamber.

Ch. 260Obito: I'll Take Back What Belongs to Me!

Kisame learned that Hanzo and the Zero-Tails guarded the Capital Fortress, while Rin delivered medication to Kakashi and struggled with the memories they shared. Obito and Black Zetsu headed for the Leaf Village to retrieve Obito’s eye, as Ingetsu sensed trouble there from afar.

  • Hanzo told Kisame that the Zero-Tails absorbed humans’ negative emotions and said Ingetsu and Rin would not let anyone leave the Capital Fortress.
  • Rin disguised her Impure World Reincarnation body and began working at the Leaf Village hospital, where she found Kakashi’s name on the medication list.
  • Rin delivered Kakashi’s medication, and Kakashi recognized her name; after she left, he told Guy that she had reminded him of Rin.
  • Obito and Black Zetsu agreed to retrieve Obito’s eye from the Leaf Village before pursuing the Seven-Tails in Takigakure.
  • Ingetsu sensed that something would happen in the Leaf Village and told Konan he could participate remotely.

Ch. 261Rin!

Ingetsu’s Susanoo entered the Land of Rain as Obito infiltrated Konoha and attacked Kakashi at the hospital. Obito discovered Kakashi no longer had his Sharingan, then stopped torturing him when Rin appeared, revealed beneath her disguise.

  • Ingetsu entered the Land of Rain in Susanoo and focused his attention on Konoha.
  • Guy confronted Black Zetsu on the hospital rooftop, and Black Zetsu prepared to dive away from Guy’s attack.
  • A masked man ambushed Kakashi in his hospital room, pursued him through the rain, and seized him with Kamui.
  • Obito removed Kakashi’s forehead protector and mask, saw his Sharingan was gone, and stabbed Kakashi in the abdomen with a wooden spike.
  • Rin called out to Kakashi, and Obito recognized her beneath her disguise and rushed toward her.
