Signs of a Prison Break
"Today's actions had been a little risky, but now it seemed that everything had been worth it."
After Scrimgeour, Tonks, and the other Aurors finished dealing with the scene and left, George lay on the large, comfortable bed in the Dark wizard's bedroom and could not help sighing.
Not to mention the savings the old wizard had accumulated in Gringotts over most of his life—even this Potions shop and the potions and herbs inside were a considerable fortune.
Perhaps it was nothing compared to the truly wealthy people in the wizarding world, but for a young wizard, it was more than enough.
It was like an adult owning a million in assets. That might not be much to boast about, but if a child who had just started middle school possessed a million in pocket money, they would absolutely crush most students in the country.
With such a large sum of money, many things would become much easier.
For safety's sake, he had considered whether he should sell this Potions shop after inheriting the estate and move into the Leaky Cauldron.
But after thinking it over, he decided against it.
He would definitely need a private place like this in the future to study magic that could not be discovered.
Besides, this Potions shop might prove useful in many ways later on. Selling it would be easy, but buying it back would be difficult.
"This child's body really does look frail. I'll need to eat more and build myself up from now on."
George sat up, walked around the bedroom once, then stopped in front of the mirror and carefully examined this body in the Harry Potter world.
Ever since waking up, he had been focused on planning how to reasonably kill the old wizard. He had not properly looked at this body at all.
Golden hair, blue eyes, a high nose bridge, and fairly decent features. It was just that long-term malnutrition and abuse had left the body rather thin and weak.
Still, that was not a major problem. With proper care, it would recover.
"Good thing my inner self isn't this weak."
George bent his legs and jumped with force, easily leaping more than three meters into the air and reaching the ceiling with one hand.
This was not because he was a wizard and therefore had such powerful jumping ability. Wizards' bodies were indeed different from ordinary people's, with greater resistance to blows and stronger recovery abilities.
But in terms of strength, unless they possessed special bloodlines like Hagrid, they were no different from normal Muggles.
The reason George was so unusual was that this body had inherited not only the mutant abilities of his Marvel Universe body, but also its physical strength.
In other words, his current strength was the combined strength of eleven-year-old Dora's body and the body of eighteen-year-old artificial mutant Number 757.
Although artificial mutant Number 757 did not possess an ability that enhanced the body like Beast or Wolverine, his body was still that of a normal eighteen-year-old adult.
Moreover, during those three months in the Marvel Universe, he had not merely trained his abilities. He had also undergone physical conditioning and close-combat training, making his physical fitness considerably stronger than that of a normal eighteen-year-old youth.
To put it in rough figures, if Dora's body could throw a punch with fifty pounds of force and Number 757's body could throw one with two hundred pounds, then both Dora and Number 757 now had strength of around two hundred and fifty pounds.
Of course, that was only a rough estimate. The specifics would have to be based on actual measurements.
For Number 757, an extra fifty pounds was not especially noticeable, but for Dora, gaining an additional two hundred pounds of strength was an enormous change.
Dora's body was especially light, weighing only fifty pounds. Suddenly receiving Number 757's all-around physical enhancements made the effect even more obvious—he could casually leap more than three meters.
His agility was comparable to that of a feline.
"I guess I count as a super kid among children."
After roughly checking his body, George began a thorough search of the old wizard's bedroom.
He wanted to see whether he could find any forbidden Dark Magic books the old wizard had hidden away, or notes on researching Dark Magic, so that he could learn some powerful Dark Magic in advance.
However, the result disappointed him. He found no unusual Magic Books, only normal ones that could be bought in bookstores.
Thinking about it, that made sense. The shops in Knockturn Alley underwent routine inspections every month. Even if the old wizard had such things, he would not dare keep them openly at home.
"Forget it. This body should rest first. It's had a long day too."
Having found nothing useful, George washed up briefly, then lay on the Dark wizard's luxurious bed and put this body into sleep mode.
At the same time, he shifted his main focus back to his original body in the Marvel Universe.
It was already daytime there, and time for his usual training again.
"It should be soon. Looks like I need to hurry and learn a few useful spells first!"
After the morning training ended, George expressionlessly ate the lunch before him, though his eyes were covertly watching the mutant children gathered together nearby.
While passing through the corridor earlier, he had seen a female nurse being viciously berated by the supervisor here.
The reason seemed to be that the nurse had specially prepared a cake, hoping to hold a group birthday celebration for the mutant children, who had never celebrated a birthday before.
If he remembered correctly, not long after this happened, that nurse would come to her senses and lead the mutant children in a mass prison break.
Training proceeded as usual in the afternoon. After his original body fell asleep that night, his consciousness returned to the Harry Potter world.
It was morning here.
He got up and tidied himself, made a hearty breakfast, and took the Daily Prophet the owl had delivered to the door. As George happily ate breakfast, he read the newspaper the old wizard had paid to subscribe to.
The food at the Experimental Base was nutritious, but the taste truly did not suit him.
And when the Dark wizard had still been alive, Dora had struggled even to eat his fill, let alone care about flavor.
"Internationally renowned figure and author, recipient of the Order of Merlin, Third Class, honorary member of the Dark Force Defence League, and five-time winner of Wizard Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award, Mr. Gilderoy Lockhart,
will be signing and selling his autobiography, Magical Me, at Flourish and Blotts from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on August 21."
Looking at the flashy male wizard in forget-me-not blue robes in the Daily Prophet, George could not help sighing.
"If only I'd arrived a year earlier. At least I could have been in the same year as the Golden Trio. Maybe I would have even been assigned to the same house and dormitory."
That was right. It was not 1991 now, but 1992—the second year after Harry Potter entered Hogwarts. He would start Hogwarts a year later than Harry Potter.
Being with The Trio had both advantages and disadvantages. The downside was that he could easily get dragged into all kinds of incidents, which would affect his magic studies.
The advantage was that he knew all about those incidents. As long as he handled them properly, there was basically no danger in the end, and he could use them to gain some extra benefits.
