Automaton City, Liverpool...
In the outskirts some distance away from Liverpool, Automaton City, several buildings resembling the residences of wealthy farmers stood amid an otherwise empty field.
Surrounded by a wall, they were stone buildings entirely constructed from heavy, undecorated bricks. Though grand in appearance like ancient stone castles, they were as rustic as farmhouse residences.
Inside the walls were silos resembling clock towers, stone buildings resembling houses, tall towers resembling castles, and livestock sheds built from stone.
At first glance, the place looked like a farm dedicated to raising livestock and cultivating animals for meat.
Yet the signboard at the main entrance of the wall clearly bore the words "Orphanage."
However, if this truly was an orphanage, the scene within was far too out of place.

Did an orphanage need such strict security?...
Even an army guarding military rations or transporting provisions would probably only be guarded to this extent, right?...

Inside one of these extremely suspicious buildings, Brunson stood with his hands behind his back, followed by several people in white coats who looked like doctors and experts.
The building was pitch-black, without the slightest trace of light.
The doors and windows around it, aside from the entrance, were all covered with iron bars. Other than the bars over the doors and windows, there was no furniture or equipment
