Gensokyo, Eientei in the Bamboo Forest of the Lost...
Despite the fine weather, the Bamboo Forest of the Lost was still filled with a fog that made it difficult to see clearly, blocking all the incoming sunlight outside the bamboo grove and leaving its interior somewhat dim.
Eientei, however, was an exception.
No one knew exactly how it was done, but the sunlight pouring down from the sky and shining around Eientei was not blocked by the thick fog at all. Not a single ray was lost as it cascaded in, like a pillar of light descending from the heavens and enveloping all of Eientei.
It was an undeniably beautiful sight.
If someone nearby looked toward Eientei from afar, they would see that although the pavilion within the descending pillar of light had the style of an ancient Japanese building, it exuded an otherworldly air, like a hidden residence in some secluded paradise, stirring the heart.
Within Eientei, in the courtyard, plump rabbits—far fatter than their ordinary kind and roughly half the size of an adult dog—were curled up in every corner like lazy cats, apparently basking in the sunlight.
No matter how one looked at it, it was quite an incredible sight.
Before long, a door along the corridor above the courtyard slowly opened, and a young girl emerged from Eientei carrying a huge box with some difficulty.
She was quite an unusual girl.
She wore a white short-sleeved shirt beneath a uniform-like jacket, with a red tie at her chest and a pink-and-white pleated skirt below.
