A streak of light swiftly shot across the sky. Like a fleeting meteor, it trailed a long tail of light as it flew toward another part of the heavens at a speed barely perceptible to the naked eye.
The streak of light was flying along the opposite side of Youkai Mountain, heading away from the mountain as though it were speeding toward the depths of Gensokyo.
In truth, Gensokyo was not very large. Thus, when ordinary people and youkai spoke of "the mountain," they generally meant Youkai Mountain, as it was the only famous mountain in Gensokyo. "The forest" referred to the Magic Forest, "the bamboo forest" referred to the Bamboo Forest of the Lost, and "the village" referred to the Human Village.
