Devil-Humans
Devil-Humans!
A name mentioned countless times on the Evolutionist Forum.
They were not one person, but a group of people.
There were countless Devil-Humans across the world, who had established countless Devil-Human Organizations.
Among them, Demon Awakening was the most powerful, striking fear into the hearts of Evolutionists. Even the Earth Alliance was helpless against them.
Of the four Perfected Evolvers humanity had lost so far, one had died at the hands of Demon Awakening.
Devil-Humans were human, yet not human.
They were mutated humans after evolution.
After the 2045 Catastrophe erupted, many humans had luckily become Evolutionists, but even more had turned into Devil-Humans.
Their powerful physiques rivaled monsters. After evolving, they regained human intelligence, making them even more terrifying than monsters.
They called themselves Devil-Humans.
There were Blood Devils, as well as Evil Devils comparable to human Espers.
Their temperaments had changed drastically. Bloodthirsty and murderous, Devil-Humans had taken another path of evolution.
They were the sworn enemies of Evolutionists.
Blood-red skin, tall and robust physiques, and a layer of hardened Scale Armor covering their bodies.
Their faces were savage and ugly, with some even sporting horns on their heads.
The sight of the Devil-Humans immediately reminded Wang Ye of the Great Devils among the Ten Cosmic Monsters, with their spiraled horns and blood-red skin.
Every Devil-Human looked different, but they shared certain traits—
Blood-red skin, murderous and bloodthirsty.
Their pupils were blood-red as well.
"A celebrity, huh? She really is quite pretty." The tall, muscular Devil-Human let out a sinister cackle, his snake-like tongue licking the corner of his mouth.
"What are you in such a hurry for? Wait until the Main Master gets here." The curved-horn Devil-Human reached out and stopped him.
"We'll kill her when he gets here anyway. Let's fuck her first!" The tall Devil-Human's eyes brimmed with lust. "I see her online every day. Anabella, damn! I've wanted to fuck her for ages! I've never even tasted what a celebrity feels like!"
"Fuck off. If anyone's doing her, I go first!" The curved-horn Devil-Human angrily pointed at the female corpse on the ground, her clothes shredded to rags. "You fucking won't live long anyway!"
Anabella, who had been tied up and pretending to be unconscious, began trembling all over in terror.
When the female assistant had been violated by that demon just now, she had witnessed firsthand what true misery beyond endurance and a fate worse than death looked like...
"Help!" Anabella screamed at the top of her lungs, using every ounce of strength she had.
She could no longer care about anything else, even if she was knocked unconscious again.
At least she would not die so painfully.
"Don't rush. You'll be screaming your heart out soon enough." The tall Devil-Human cackled as he grabbed Anabella by the hair, his eyes filled with infatuation. "You smell so good."
"Of course she does. Can perfume not smell good?" the curved-horn Devil-Human coldly mocked. "Hurry the Main Master along. Where is he?"
Anabella's breathing quickened. She felt as though her hair was about to be torn out.
Then she suddenly caught sight of a head poking out from a wall corner in the distance. Like a drowning person spotting driftwood, she blinked desperately.
Whoosh!
The curved-horn Devil-Human whipped his head around.
His gaze swept over the road and surrounding ruins as caution appeared in his eyes. "Go check. See if anyone's there."
"Fine." The tall Devil-Human was clearly somewhat wary of the curved-horn Devil-Human. He released Anabella's hair with his cyan-black fingers and walked forward.
He glanced around casually, looking utterly unconcerned.
Only when he reached the blind corner at the street turn did he slowly come to a stop.
A vicious glint flashed through the tall Devil-Human's eyes. He suddenly sprang forward, his right fist blasting out like a cannonball.
Smack!
After a brief pause.
The street corner was completely empty, without a single shadow in sight.
The tall Devil-Human's fierce aura instantly vanished. He lowered his fist, irritably licked the corner of his mouth with his long tongue, then turned back to the curved-horn Devil-Human. "There's nothing—"
"Idiot!" the curved-horn Devil-Human cursed.
Whoosh!
Before his words had even faded, Wang Ye burst out from behind the convenience store door.
The Crimson Sun Battle Blade in his hand struck Swift as Thunder, Covering Ears Too Late. Rising Sun was unleashed in an instant, fast as lightning.
The ambushed tall Devil-Human let out a pained scream.
Though his physical defense was formidable, this slash tore directly through the skin on his back, spraying black-red blood everywhere.
As his body lost balance, Wang Ye swiftly followed up with another powerful slash, chopping the tall Devil-Human to the ground.
Dawn's First Light!
The blade force blazed like fire, violent as thunder.
The tall Devil-Human had no time to react at all. His head was severed in a single strike, his eyes wide open as he died completely.
Devil-Humans had the same weaknesses as humans.
"A Second Order Blood Devil." Wang Ye remained calm.
Those three strikes had basically allowed him to judge the strength of the two Devil-Humans.
Their bodily toughness was roughly equal to that of mid-level Ferocious-level Monsters.
It was about what he had expected.
The dead trainee had probably possessed the strength of a First Order Gene Warrior.
If the enemy had been a Third Order Blood Devil or stronger, there would not have been so many traces of battle left on his body. He would have been killed instantly long ago.
Wang Ye looked toward Anabella in the distance.
She had been a popular actress five years ago, starting out as a model and appearing in countless advertisements and variety shows.
Once a goddess to shut-in men everywhere, the original owner had been obsessed with her looks.
"You came to save her?" The curved-horn Devil-Human had witnessed his companion's death with his own eyes, yet showed no trace of sorrow.
"Just passing through." Wang Ye crushed the tall Devil-Human's head beneath his foot, splattering brain matter.
Human scum.
"Let's stay out of each other's business and pretend we never met. How about it?" The curved-horn Devil-Human's voice was icy.
Wang Ye glanced at the female corpse not far from Anabella.
Her body was covered in bloody holes, and beneath her tattered dress was blood everywhere.
Her clothes barely covered her body. The sight was heartbreaking!
Devil-Humans were even more brutal than monsters!
Shifting his gaze, Wang Ye looked at Anabella, whose hopeful eyes shone with light, and held up two fingers.
She immediately understood and nodded hard.
"I'm much stronger than him." The curved-horn Devil-Human stared coldly at Wang Ye.
"What a coincidence. So am I." Wang Ye's smile was brilliant, yet cold.
Clang!
The curved-horn Devil-Human drew his sword and placed it against Anabella's snow-white swanlike neck.
The sharp edge cut open a wound, and blood trickled down the blade. "Do you believe I'll kill her?"
"Go ahead. I don't know her." Wang Ye's expression was indifferent.
"No!!!"
Anabella's face filled with terror. Tears fell like large raindrops as she looked heartbreakingly pitiful. "Save me..."
Sshk.
The curved-horn Devil-Human pressed his sword deeper.
Anabella's white sweater was drenched in blood. Her eyes were full of pleading as she looked at Wang Ye, crying desperately. "Save me! Please! I'll give you anything you want!"
"Heh."
Wang Ye's voice fell beside Anabella's ear like heavenly music.
He suddenly stepped forward, the Crimson Sun Battle Blade in his hand brimming with masculine force as he charged straight at the curved-horn Devil-Human.
Clang!
The curved-horn Devil-Human drew back his sword to block, murderous intent twisting within his blood-red pupils.
"You're courting death!"
Blade and sword collided.
Wang Ye felt a huge force no weaker than that of a Yeniu Monster of the same level.
He retreated to avoid its edge, smoothly transitioning into the Limit Breaking Skill Square Circle, his defense flawless.
No matter how the curved-horn Devil-Human attacked, he could not break through it.
Devil-Humans knew swordsmanship too!
Wang Ye had even seen a tip on the Evolutionist Forum—
Devil-Humans could connect to Moon Web too.
The only things they lacked were perhaps fitting equipment and handy weapons.
Well, and they were ugly.
But their monster-like, powerful bodies were already the best equipment.
Still, they bled just the same.
Wang Ye shifted from defense to offense.
Seizing an opening in the curved-horn Devil-Human's defense, the Crimson Sun Battle Blade sliced through his skin.
Black-red blood seeped out, but it only further roused the curved-horn Devil-Human's ferocity. With a roar, his sword attacks suddenly accelerated.
A vicious slash landed on Wang Ye's Darklight Battle Suit, only for a blade to chop toward his arm in return.
Crack!
The sound of bone breaking.
The curved-horn Devil-Human roared in pain, clutching his limply hanging right arm with his left as he staggered backward.
Wang Ye pursued at high speed. Rising Sun flowed into Radiant Hues of Myriad Paths, blade light like glowing clouds dancing across the sky.
Sshk! Sshk! Sshk!
Blood sprayed from the curved-horn Devil-Human's body. He no longer had time to care about his broken right arm, clenching his steel-like left hand into a fist and forcefully meeting the Crimson Sun Battle Blade.
He could not block it!
His blade mastery completely overwhelmed him!
Though they were on the same level, and the curved-horn Devil-Human's body was stronger than Wang Ye's, the gap in combat techniques and skills was simply too great!
He was forced back again and again!
Boom!
Wang Ye's blade smashed into the curved-horn Devil-Human's left shoulder, chopping him off balance.
The next instant, blade light descended.
At the End of the Strong Crossbow's Flight, the curved-horn Devil-Human could no longer block. His eyes bulged as he let out an unwilling roar.
Sshk!
His head hit the ground, and his powerful body collapsed with a crash.
Anabella watched Wang Ye display his might and kill two Devil-Humans in succession, her beautiful eyes filled with delight.
He had won!
She was saved!
The exhilaration of surviving a disaster left her whole body numb and her legs weak.
She had almost thought she was finished.
Thinking of that thing covered in spikes...
It was too terrifying.
"You're amazing!" Anabella pressed a hand to her violently heaving chest, gazing at Wang Ye with admiration as she revealed a sweet smile that could enchant anyone. "Thank you."
"No need." Wang Ye glanced at her.
He looked around, then pointed ahead.
"Let's go."
Following the direction of Wang Ye's finger, Anabella's delicate body trembled. She saw an abandoned building in the distance, with two barely recognizable characters on it—
Hanting.
