"Is that so? That's good." Shu Mengou smiled wearily and dried her hands.
"Mhm, mhm. The remaining monsters have all been frightened into fleeing in every direction. The Evolvers are clearing out the remnants now. The outpost is safe!" The nurse beamed with delight.
Shu Mengou nodded, pressed her thumb against her temple, then rolled her aching neck. She reached out to take the fresh gloves handed over by the nurse and put them on again.
The ambulance suddenly fell silent. Shu Mengou gave a soft sound of surprise and turned her head.
Her pupils dilated instantly, and she froze where she stood.
