Roy Focker's well-meaning warning, however, was abruptly interrupted by Max and ended up serving no real purpose.
Kakizaki Hayao, wearing a lecherous grin, joined in the teasing.
"Yeah, yeah, Captain, don't worry. We're heading back too, to hold a woman just like you... ah~."
"Watch out, Hayao!"
Just as Kakizaki Hayao was speaking carelessly with that sleazy look on his face,
Milia, flying close to the ocean's surface, fired her wrist-mounted Gatling Gun from an incredible distance and pierced his Valkyrie with perfect accuracy.
Kakizaki Hayao fell into the sea along with the wreckage of his fighter and died on the spot.
"All units, scatter!"
At Roy Focker's warning,
Max and Ichijo Hikaru finally realized the danger. Like the others, they immediately banked their Variable Fighters apart.
They climbed in altitude and charged toward Milia's squadron.
"What descendants of a Primal Civilization? They're completely useless."
On the other side, Milia looked disdainfully at Kakizaki Hayao's downed Variable Fighter.
Then, without realizing it, she flew toward Max.
"That's... the Humanoid Weapon that just shot down Hayao! Then let me see what you can do, alien woman!"
After realizing he had been targeted, Max immediately accelerated. Dodging a barrage from Milia's wrist-mounted Gatling Guns,
he yanked the controls into an extreme deceleration, pulled his nose sharply upward, and flipped behind Milia, sweeping her with his Laser Gatling Gun.
"What!? He got behind me."
"I actually missed!? What fast reflexes."
Having just dodged Max's attack, Milia raised both hands again and returned fire with her wrist-mounted Gatling Guns.
After both their attacks missed, they could not help but admire each other's skill.
They both became more serious, constantly switching between offense and defense, yet neither could so much as scratch the other.
And so began the first domestic dispute between the married couple
