Ten Directions City, which had been completely surrounded, watched countless demons recede like a tide. They left as abruptly as they had come, leaving behind only devastation and deep scars across the land.
The city walls had collapsed into broken stretches of ruin, rubble littered the ground, and smoke and dust filled the air.
The surrounding grass and trees had been trampled into desolation, the vegetation withered and dying.
Bloodstains mottled the ground, shattered weapons lay scattered among them, and the stench of blood rushed into the nose, sending chills down one's spine.
The sky remained unbearably dim, thick with dark clouds as lightning tore through the darkness.
The cold wind clamored, howling as it swept up the dust on the ground, making this chaotic world appear even more desolate.
Looking back into the city, even the outskirts of Ten Directions City had been utterly reduced to ruins.
Houses had collapsed, smoke and dust had purified the air, the streets had become utterly dilapidated, and the ruins exuded an air of decay.
Yet from the inside out, there were not many corpses of cultivators or demons to be seen—only a landscape riddled with scars.
Why were there no corpses?
