  • A massive bolt of lightning struck Hu Haoran and made him vanish, and the older electrician wept.

Ch. 2Traveled to Douluo Continent

Hu Haoran recovered after being transported to Douluo Continent and learned that he had inherited the body of a seven-year-old Blue Electric Tyrant Dragon Clan descendant who had failed to awaken a martial soul. After discovering that the previous Hu Haoran had been beaten by Ling Fengyun, he resolved to awaken his martial soul and get even.

  • Taohua cared for Hu Haoran as he woke, and Leng Xuewu briefly visited before leaving.

  • Taohua brought Hu Haoran porridge made with Yellow Crown White Feather Chicken, and he ate eagerly.
  • Taohua cried as she thanked Hu Haoran for defending her from Ling Fengyun and nearly dying in the fight.
  • Hu Haoran recalled that Ling Fengyun had tried to take a pearl necklace meant for Taohua and had his men beat him, then vowed to defeat Ling Fengyun after awakening his martial soul.

Ch. 3Chapter 3

  • Hu Haoran dismissed Taohua and practiced the first three levels of the Blue Electric Dragon King Art, which helped heal his injuries and strengthen his body.
  • Hu Haoran continued cultivating until he could lift a fifteen-hundred-kilogram boulder, but he worried that he could not progress without Soul Power.
  • A voice in Hu Haoran’s mind offered five professions, and he chose Sword God, awakening the Soaring Sword Martial Soul.
  • The Douluo System told Hu Haoran that his clan Martial Soul would awaken at level sixty-one and rewarded him with pills and the first eight levels of the Purple Firmament Thunder Art.
  • Hu Haoran questioned the system about his rewards and learned that missions could grant Soul Power and other rewards.

Ch. 4Chapter 4

  • Hu Haoran studied the Purple Firmament Thunder Art and searched the Douluo System for a nearby place to begin its dangerous body-tempering methods.
  • Hu Haoran went to Leng Xuewu and revealed that his Martial Soul had awakened as the Purple-Gold-veined Soaring Sword.

  • After a week, Hu Haoran attacked Leng Xuewu with his Martial Soul, and she judged his Soul Power to have reached level 15 despite his having no Soul Ring.
  • Leng Xuewu prepared to take Hu Haoran to the Canglan Mountain Range, and he eagerly agreed to leave.

Ch. 6Canglan Mountain Range Part 1

Hu Haoran entered the Canglan Mountain Range to hunt for his first soul ring, relying on the Douluo System’s map and guidance to plan his route. He chose the Thousand-Year Heavy Thunder Rhinoceros’s Vicious Thunder Stab, but the habitat lay beyond several dangerous areas and a vast swamp.

  • Leng Xuewu gave Hu Haoran supplies, a list, and Gold Soul Coins, then told him she would let him fend for himself in the mountains except in grave danger.
  • Hu Haoran entered the Canglan Mountain Range alone while mercenaries mocked his chances of survival.
  • Hu Haoran activated the Douluo System’s map mode and saw the locations, ages, strengths, and weaknesses of nearby soul beasts.

  • A black soul ring rose from the Dragon Leopard’s remains as the injured Soul Ancestor vomited blood.

Ch. 8Canglan Mountain Range Part 2

Hu Haoran met the injured Soul Ancestor Jiang Jiayao in the Canglan Mountain Range and helped him recover so he could absorb the Blazing Fire Dragon Leopard’s soul ring. After Jiang Jiayao became a Soul King, he agreed to help Hu Haoran hunt a Heavy Thunder Rhinoceros, and they set off together.

  • Hu Haoran revealed himself after accidentally drawing the injured Jiang Jiayao’s attention, and the two traded insults before Hu Haoran explained that he was hunting for a soul ring.

  • The Miasma Ghost Demon Lizard trapped the Thunderous Lightning Rhinoceros, but the rhinoceros pierced its jaw and crushed its head after paralyzing it with lightning.
  • Hu Haoran wanted to attack immediately, but Jiang Jiayao stopped him until the rhinoceros’s lightning faded and its guard lowered.
  • After the Thunderous Lightning Rhinoceros began eating its prey, Hu Haoran silently charged Soul Power into his blade and stabbed the beast in its left eye.
  • The Thunderous Lightning Rhinoceros’s roar blasted Hu Haoran away, but Hu Haoran insisted that he could finish the weakened beast himself.

  • Hu Haoran exploited the Heavy Thunder Rhinoceros's blindness, wounded it, and killed it with his Soaring Sword.
  • Jiang Jiayao warned Hu Haoran that absorbing the 1,250-year soul ring could make his body explode, but Hu Haoran began absorbing it anyway.
  • Hu Haoran refined the soul ring's power, broke through to Soul Master, and reached level 20.
  • The Douluo System rewarded Hu Haoran with the Heaven-tier battle soul sword technique Thunder Sound Swordplay.
