The old monk had seized the chance to widen the distance between himself and his opponent. His original intention had merely been to have the Ancient Demon buy him a little time. How could he have imagined that in that brief instant, a grand and imposing Ancient Demon would already have fallen? This was a monster at the late stage of Lihe, something he had only managed to subdue after a lucky stroke of fate, and yet in the blink of an eye, it had all gone down the drain.
His heart ached terribly, but fear outweighed it. Jin Yi bared his white teeth at him. "Master, go die!"
Before the words had even fallen, crackling, bursting sounds entered his ears. Jin Yi's fist actually stretched out all at once like rubber, treating the distance of several zhang as nothing. In a flash, it had already arrived before him.
"Ha!"
With nowhere left to dodge, the old monk had no choice. He reached out and tore off the Kasaya draped over his body, then bit through his tongue, spitting out vital essence mixed with fresh blood.
"Subduing dragons and forcing tigers into Submission—break!"
Blood blossomed and burst, melting into the Kasaya. The treasure flashed, and actually transformed into a golden Lotus.
It spun round and round, and the Lotus petals unfurled one by one.
Brahmic chanting entered their ears. Yet this was not the end. The old monk reached out and patted his chest, taking a talisman from within his robes.
It ignited without wind, and a suit of armor of ancient and simple design appeared over his body.
