About half an hour later, a massive mountain peak came into view.
The mountain was steep and towering, more than ten thousand zhang tall, with clusters of white clouds wrapped around its waist. It thrust straight into the heavens, giving off an ethereal, majestic aura.
"This..."
The four of them looked at one another, each face showing a trace of shock and suspicion.
If they remembered correctly, just a moment ago, all they had seen within their line of sight had been a few ruined walls and broken remnants. There had clearly been no great mountain there.
How had it suddenly appeared before their eyes for no reason at all?
Could it be an illusion?
As Spirit Division-level Cultivators, all of them were widely experienced, yet they truly had never encountered something like this before. No wonder they had become so suspicious and jumpy.
Lin Xuan raised an eyebrow. A silver gleam flashed deep in his eyes as he silently activated the Heavenly Phoenix Divine Eye, yet the mountain peak before him did not change in the slightest. It still stood quietly not far ahead, clearly proving that this was definitely not some illusionary trick meant to blind the eyes.
And at the summit of the mountain, deep within those white clouds, some pavilions and towers could faintly be seen. Though ruined, they still radiated an awe-inspiring presence that struck one head-on.
They were still far away, yet Lin Xuan somehow felt it was somewhat familiar, as though he had once experienced something like this before—or rather, as though he had once come to a similar place.
Only, that feeling was unclear, or perhaps it was there and not there at all. For a moment, he simply could not grasp where this sense of déjà vu came from.
