A faint smile, however, tugged at the corner of Shangguan Ling's mouth.
Instead, she slowed her steps, looking left and right, as though she really were out shopping.
The other three women could not help looking at one another; even the Demon Race woman whose breath turned to ice could not keep a trace of surprise from her eyes.
But of course, they did not think Shangguan Ling was doing this out of playfulness. She definitely had some other plan.
Thus, surprise was surprise, but the three women stopped urging her anxiously. Instead, they did their best to cooperate, as though they truly were playing at shopping.
Before they knew it, an hour had passed.

There were far fewer people, but on both sides of the street there were still a few storefronts.

It was a general store.
On the surface, it was utterly unremarkable.
Though there were many goods on display, they were somewhat disorderly, and there were no other customers inside.
A young shop assistant was dozing within.
Seeing the four women enter, he climbed to his feet bleary-eyed and came before them with a yawn. "Welcome, honored guests, to our humble shop. May I ask what you would like to buy?"
"Call your shopkeeper out."
Shangguan Ling flipped her palm, and a seemingly ordinary Jade Pendant appeared before their eyes.
When the young assistant saw it, his eyes lit up, and his gaze became bright and piercing. "I am the owner of this general store."
