  • Xinyue argued that Taowu was bound by the Human World’s laws and stood at the same realm as her, while the two Nascent Soul cultivators offered to assist her.
  • Xinyue launched a flower basket treasure, releasing more than a hundred immortal swords toward Taowu.
  • The late-stage cultivator struck Perfected Master Tongyu, who spat blood, then sent a Wind Fire Wheel rushing toward the old woman.

  • The Red-Robed Cultivator knelt and begged for his life, but Lin Xuan killed him with a streak of Sword Qi.

Ch. 1499Master and Senior

Lin Xuan captured a Nascent Soul Late Stage cultivator and reunited with Perfected Master Tongyu, revealing that he was Tongyu’s long-lost disciple. After acknowledging Tongyu’s former Senior Brother Xu had died, Lin Xuan and Tongyu agreed to associate as peers.

  • Lin Xuan stopped the Nascent Soul’s escape, sealed its magic power, and stored it in a Jade Box for the Beast Soul Banner.
  • The Old Crone and the Monk thanked Lin Xuan, while Perfected Master Tongyu wondered whether the Lihe Realm cultivator was his former disciple.
  • Lin Xuan called Tongyu “Master” and confirmed he was the same Lin Xuan who had parted from him three hundred years earlier.
  • Tongyu told Lin Xuan that Senior Brother Xu had died and ended their master-disciple relationship because Lin Xuan had surpassed him.
  • Lin Xuan agreed not to call Tongyu Master or Senior, and they decided to associate as peers.

Ch. 1500The Ancient Tomb

Lin Xuan met Perfected Master Tongyu, Master Ming Zhong, and Lady Long, who had been afflicted by a strange poison after exploring an ancient cultivator’s tomb. As Tongyu recounted how they disturbed a swarm of Jade Luo Bees, Lin Xuan realized their poison and misfortune might be tied to a powerful, unusually large bee.

  • Lin Xuan led Perfected Master Tongyu, Master Ming Zhong, and Lady Long to a hidden cave so they could explain their poison in private.
  • Perfected Master Tongyu said Lady Long had brought him a treasure map over ten years earlier, and the four of them had followed it to an ancient cultivator’s tomb.
  • Tongyu explained that the group had gathered burial treasures before opening the tomb’s central coffin, from which nearly a thousand Demon Insects emerged.
  • Lady Long identified the insects as Jade Luo Bees, and Lin Xuan recognized them as the same species he had been raising.
  • Tongyu said the swarm included one Jade Luo Bee about the size of a baby’s head, and Lin Xuan wondered how powerful a fully mature bee could be.

Ch. 1501Time Poison

Lin Xuan learned that a mature Jade Luo Bee’s poison rapidly consumed lifespan and that the surviving cultivators needed a hundred-thousand-year-old Aster Herb to cure it. He revealed that he had one, leaving Perfected Master Tongyu, the Monk, and the Old Crone overjoyed.

  • Perfected Master Tongyu recounted how a Jade Luo Bee stung Senior Brother Xu and resisted their attacks as the group fled the Ancient Tomb.
  • The Monk explained that the bee’s poison accelerated aging, causing Xu to spend his remaining lifespan and die within days.
  • The Old Crone said she and the others had received only lingering poison, which made their lifespans pass at twice the normal rate.
  • Perfected Master Tongyu said he had researched a cure but needed a hundred-thousand-year-old Aster Herb, prompting the group to enter Asura Gate in search of one.
  • Lin Xuan told the three cultivators he had obtained an Aster Herb and showed them the mature purple herb.

Ch. 1502Lin Xuan Bestows Treasure

Lin Xuan gave Perfected Master Tongyu a two-hundred-thousand-year-old Aster Herb and obtained a Jade Slip containing the pill formula for curing Jade Luo Bee poison. After Lin Xuan left, Tongyu and his companions recognized that his name seemed familiar.

  • Perfected Master Tongyu was shocked by the age of Lin Xuan’s Aster Herb, and Lin Xuan gave it to him as a token of gratitude for their former master-disciple bond.
  • Lin Xuan advised Perfected Master Tongyu and the other two cultivators to hide until the Asura Gate ended, and Tongyu agreed.
  • Lin Xuan asked Perfected Master Tongyu for a copy of the pill formula that could cure Jade Luo Bee poison, and Tongyu handed him the Jade Slip.
  • Lin Xuan took the Jade Slip and flew away, leaving Perfected Master Tongyu, Monk, and the Old Crone behind.
  • Monk asked whether Lin Xuan’s name sounded familiar, and Lady Long began to ponder where she had heard it.

Ch. 1503The Three's Choice

Perfected Master Tongyu, Monk Ming Zhong, and Lady Long confirmed the Aster Herb could cure their poison and decided not to risk searching for more treasure in the Asura Gate. They prepared to conceal their cave and wait until the gate ended, while Lin Xuan flew toward the summit by another route.

  • Monk Ming Zhong and another companion reminded Perfected Master Tongyu that Lin Xuan was the renowned Lihe Realm cultivator who had killed Kong Xuan.
  • Perfected Master Tongyu confirmed the Aster Herb was suitable for refining poison-curing pills and asked whether his companions would continue treasure hunting.
  • After Tongyu warned them about the Asura Gate's dangers and recalled their disastrous expedition ten years earlier, Monk Ming Zhong and Lady Long agreed to stop searching for treasure.
  • Monk Ming Zhong proposed staying in their current cave and hiding it with Formation Flags, and Perfected Master Tongyu accepted the plan.
  • Monk Ming Zhong brought out his Formation Flags and a round disc as Lin Xuan, unaware of their preparations, flew toward the mountain summit.

  • Lin Xuan recognized the endangered woman as Princess Xinyue, whose other soul was his sworn sister Xiahou Lan, and resolved that he could not let either identity die.
  • Lin Xuan identified Xinyue's opponent as Taowu, a powerful Split Soul of one of the Four Evils whom he had fought centuries earlier.
  • Taowu's greater combat experience and brutality left Xinyue and her two Nascent Soul Late Stage allies at a disadvantage, with both allies missing an arm and Xinyue covered in blood.
  • Taowu urged Xinyue to surrender, promising to eat her flesh while possibly sparing her Primordial Spirit and soul.
  • Xinyue rejected Taowu's offer and warned that her father would pursue it if it harmed her.

Ch. 1506The Marvelous Spirit World Spells

  • Xinyue transformed more than a hundred immortal swords into flowers and formed the Hundred Flowers Fragrant Array.
  • Taowu revealed that it had a blood feud with Xinyue’s master, the Hundred Flowers Fairy, and threatened Xinyue because she was her disciple.
  • Xinyue released poisonous petals and spun them into a sharp whirlwind, which sliced apart Taowu’s two treasures.
  • Taowu launched its sphere of energy at the petal whirlwind, and the collision blasted the Hundred Flowers Fragrant Array into disarray without breaking it.

Ch. 1507Loyal and Righteous

Taowu nearly killed Xinyue, but Baihe sacrificed himself to delay the beast so she could flee. Xueling stayed behind to buy her more time, determined to protect her own children and the families of her companions.

  • Taowu rushed Xinyue, who froze in terror, while Lin Xuan realized he could not reach her in time.
  • Baihe used the Earth-Shrinking Technique to block Taowu and urged Xinyue to escape.
  • After Taowu destroyed his shield, Baihe charged the beast and self-detonated, buying Xinyue time to flee.
  • Xinyue continued escaping, shaken by Baihe's death, while Xueling remained behind to hold off Taowu.
  • Xueling accepted that she might die so Xinyue could escape and her own children and companions' families could be protected.

Ch. 1508Nine-Headed Snake

Taowu killed Xueling and pursued the fleeing Princess Xinyue, but Lin Xuan ambushed it to protect the soul within Xinyue and avenge his past enmity. After wounding Taowu, Lin Xuan launched a fierce assault and summoned a massive Nine-Headed Snake from the earth.

  • Taowu used demonic claws to tear Xueling apart, then pierced her escaping Nascent Soul with a Flying Needle-shaped Dharma Treasure.
  • Lin Xuan decided to save Xinyue because Xiahou Lan’s soul was inside her, and took advantage of Taowu’s weakened state to ambush it.
  • Lin Xuan’s Azure Fire Sword cut off Taowu’s left ear, and Taowu recognized him as a cultivator who had advanced to Lihe.
  • Lin Xuan attacked Taowu with Sword Qi and earth primordial Qi, summoning a Nine-Headed Snake from the ground.
  • Taowu faced the Nine-Headed Snake without retreating and struck forward with its two front claws.

Ch. 1509A Clever Ruse to Lure the Enemy

Lin Xuan used a series of feints to draw Taowu into a close-range clash, then unleashed Phantom Spirit Heaven Fire against its Split Soul. The fire overwhelmed Taowu’s defenses and began destroying its claw, leaving the battle unresolved.

  • Taowu destroyed Lin Xuan’s Azure Fire and nine-headed serpent attacks, unaware they were meant to distract it.
  • Lin Xuan used Nine Heavens Micro-Steps to appear beside Taowu and transformed his right hand into a Phoenix claw.
  • Lin Xuan concealed Phantom Spirit Heaven Fire around his claw and baited Taowu into meeting him head-on.
  • The Phantom Spirit Heaven Fire devoured Taowu’s black radiance, froze and poisoned its claw, and began eroding it with its deathly power.

Ch. 1510A cornered beast will still fight

Lin Xuan and Yue'er cornered Taowu, whose Split Soul was driven to flee before Yue'er froze it with her Ice Moon Butterflies. Lin Xuan captured Taowu's Demon Core and prepared to destroy the frozen beast, while suspecting its fear of the butterflies was connected to Yue'er's past life as the Asura King.

  • Lin Xuan tore open Taowu's chest with his claw and attacked its head with the Azure Fire Sword.
  • Taowu used its Demon Core to block the sword and fled, but Yue'er appeared in its path.

  • Lin Xuan suspected Taowu knew of the butterflies through their connection to Yue'er's previous life as the Asura King.
  • Lin Xuan recalled the Azure Fire, captured Taowu's Demon Core, and sealed it in a Jade Box.
  • Lin Xuan enlarged the Azure Fire Sword and swung it down at the frozen Taowu.

Ch. 1512Uproot and Destroy

Lin Xuan killed Taowu’s Split Soul and rescued Xueling’s barely surviving Nascent Soul, learning that she and Baihe had come from the Spirit World to find Xinyue. Xueling revealed that Xinyue had sought a treasure in the Asura Gate, but Lin Xuan doubted her claim and demanded the truth.

  • Lin Xuan and Yue'er destroyed Taowu’s body and sealed its Split Soul in the Beast Soul Banner despite its threats and promises.
  • Lin Xuan found Xueling’s surviving Nascent Soul and used a spell to give her enough strength to speak.
  • Lin Xuan questioned Xueling about her identity and why she had come to the Human World.
  • Xueling said she and Baihe were Spirit World cultivators sent by their master to find the princess, and that Xinyue had insisted on obtaining a treasure in the Asura Gate.
  • Xueling admitted that only Xinyue knew what the treasure was, and Lin Xuan accused her of continuing to hide the truth.

Ch. 1513Longevity Lock

Xueling, a dying Nascent Soul, entrusted Lin Xuan with her family’s jade Longevity Lock and asked him to deliver it to her children in Xuanyuan City in the Spirit World. After Lin Xuan accepted the task, Xueling’s Nascent Soul collapsed and dispersed, leaving him reflecting on the dangers of the immortal path.

  • Xueling insisted she was dying and asked Lin Xuan to hear her request before he left.
  • Xueling gave Lin Xuan her family’s jade Longevity Lock and explained that she wanted it delivered to her son and daughter in Xuanyuan City.
  • Xueling used a Jade Slip to record her children’s portraits, and Lin Xuan agreed to seek them out if the Longevity Lock proved to be only a keepsake.
  • Xueling’s Nascent Soul briefly regained vitality before cracking apart and dispersing into the air.
  • Lin Xuan watched Xueling fall and reminded himself to remain cautious on the immortal path.

Ch. 1514Breaking the Restriction

Lin Xuan stopped concealing his cultivation and flew into the mist, while a group of Underworld monsters attacked a restriction on Penglai Mountain’s Jade Stone Stairs. Iron Tyrant King and the green-robed old man guarded the assault and worried about two powerful pursuers trapped elsewhere, as another set of stairs stood sealed by six copper pillars.

  • Lin Xuan revealed his cultivation and flew swiftly into the mist, believing Princess Xinyue would not pursue him.
  • Twenty-three Underworld monsters attacked the white fog blocking the Jade Stone Stairs, but their powerful strikes had no effect.
  • Iron Tyrant King and the green-robed old man maintained their strength while discussing two Lihe Late Stage cultivators who had followed them and been caught by a restriction.
  • Iron Tyrant King and the green-robed old man identified one pursuer as an Ancient Demon and wondered why he traveled with a human cultivator.
  • Elsewhere, six enormous copper pillars linked their light into a curtain that enclosed another stretch of Jade Stone Stairs.

Ch. 1515The Six-Word Demon-Subduing Curse

Wang Tinglou and the Ancient Demon were trapped by the Buddhist Sect’s Six-Word Demon-Subduing Curse, exposing their presence as they worked to break free. While they attacked the restriction, Wang Tinglou pressed Nailong True Person about the treasure atop Penglai Mountain, but learned only that it was immensely valuable to the upper-realm beings and might be useless to him.

  • Wang Tinglou recognized the Six-Word Demon-Subduing Curse and warned the Ancient Demon that their exposed whereabouts would make tracking the Underworld ghosts difficult.
  • The Ancient Demon persuaded Wang Tinglou to continue their alliance by promising to help him reach the Dongxuan stage and possibly Spirit Division after they obtained the treasure.
  • The Ancient Demon struck the light screen with a fist of devil qi while Wang Tinglou attacked it with a golden Ancient Treasure sword.
  • Wang Tinglou privately questioned Nailong True Person about the treasure atop Penglai Mountain, but Nailong refused to reveal what it was.

  • Lin Xuan chose the middle path and found that a Heavenly Chasm blocked his way under a powerful No-Fly Restriction.
  • Lin Xuan consulted his map of Penglai Mountain, found a marked boulder, and uncovered an intact short-distance Teleportation Array beneath it.
  • Lin Xuan used two Spirit Stones to activate the array and teleported across the chasm to the Jade Stone Stairs.
  • Lin Xuan heard distant explosions and realized someone had already climbed ahead, then decided to continue while hoping Fairy Ruyan was safe.
  • The teleportation array behind Lin Xuan lit up, and he slashed toward it with Sword Qi.

Ch. 1517An Unexpected Encounter with Little Sword

Lin Xuan discovered that his Sword Qi could not damage the Teleportation Array and waited for the person arriving through it. He was astonished to meet Tian Xiaojian, who had also advanced to Lihe, and both men greeted each other while concealing their wariness.

  • Lin Xuan struck the Teleportation Array with Sword Qi, but the array remained undamaged.
  • Lin Xuan held back from attacking the arriving cultivator and recognized him as Tian Xiaojian.
  • Lin Xuan and Tian Xiaojian each reacted with disbelief at the other's advancement to Lihe.
  • Tian Xiaojian greeted Lin Xuan warmly while feeling frustrated that Lin Xuan had again surpassed him.
  • Yue'er suggested that Lin Xuan join her in killing Tian Xiaojian, but Lin Xuan refused because the fight could cost them too much.
  • Lin Xuan greeted Tian Xiaojian with a smile and called him his worthy younger brother.
