"Viktor!"
Jayce couldn't forget that voice. He gripped his hammer, ready to defend himself, his gaze unconsciously drawn to where the laser had come from, his eyes widening in surprise.
"So many? Viktor, are these all your creations?"
Not far from them, several tall, mechanical monsters stood scattered. Each had a Hex claw on its shoulder and massive iron fists for hands.
"They were supposed to be Zaun's mining robots, but now, they're being used to fight for Zaun's independence."
On top of a tall building ahead, Viktor and Silco stood, expressionlessly watching them.
It was Viktor who had just spoken.
Bang!
A gunshot rang out. Silco emotionlessly tilted his head, the bullet grazing his ear.
"If that could kill me, I'd have died many times over. You two go hold off Piltover's new councilors."
As he finished speaking, five armored warriors leaped down from behind him, engaging Camille, who was trying to ascend with her grappling hook.
"Noxus's discarded military equipment, or perhaps the Eastern Legion's reserves? Medarda or Meredith?"
Camille's sharp legs moved deftly, like she was dancing a waltz of blades. Her attacks scraped against the armored suits, leaving white marks.
Though she was the strongest, neither Silco nor Viktor paid her any attention. Viktor's gaze remained fixed on Jayce, while Silco stared intently at Vi.
"Silco, where's Powder?"
Vi unleashed a powerful punch on a robot, staggering back a few steps from the recoil. She happened to look up and saw Silco watching them, and couldn't help but shout.
"She's called Jinx now. You abandoned her."
"To hell with Jinx! Powder is Powder!"
Vi's face contorted in a snarl. Her Hex Gemstone glowed as she swung her fist, aided by a massive thrust, striking the robot's outstretched iron fist.
Boom!
With the clash of iron fists, a dent appeared in the robot's fist, and its heavy body was pushed back several meters.
However, Vi herself didn't fare much better in this exchange. Her gauntlets were strong, true, but she was still flesh and blood. A few more hits like that, and she felt her internal organs would be shattered.
On the other side, Caitlyn was in even greater danger; she felt more like a hindrance.
Her firearm's bullets couldn't penetrate the robots' steel bodies, and the armored warriors were entangled with Camille. She found a few opportunities to try, but her shots only produced a few sparks against their armor.
The only ones she could attack were Viktor and Silco above.
But not only did they dodge several bullets, Viktor eventually grew annoyed and activated a small gravity field, preventing her bullets from reaching them at all.
Now, she was trapped by a robot, forced to constantly dodge with her gun.
She looked towards Jayce nearby, who was firing energy blasts from his hammer, locked in a stalemate with a robot's laser beam. But soon, he was sent scrambling by a ray from another robot.
This can't go on. They'll all be finished here.
Caitlyn's face was filled with worry, her eyes darting around, seemingly searching for a way out.
Standing high above, Silco observed the one-sided battle below, yet felt something was off:
"The three youngsters are performing normally, but Camille is too abnormal. She shouldn't be this weak."
"She's a ruthless person," Viktor said flatly.
"What are you trying to say?" Silco asked, frowning.
"Jayce and the others are her bait. She's looking for an opportunity, or perhaps testing us, to see what other trump cards we or Lord Meredith might have." Viktor stood ramrod straight, his gaze complex as he watched Jayce, who was being pushed back by the robots.
Perhaps Jayce really should only conduct research in his ivory tower. Combat truly isn't his forte.
"We've made a lot of preparations. We know almost all the secrets of Camille's body. I hope we can keep her here this time."
Silco tightly clutched a document in his right hand—something the Ferros Clan had delivered not long ago.
He had grown up hearing terrifying stories about Camille, never expecting that even she would suffer betrayal from her own family.
Piltover, truly nothing good comes from there.
Whoosh!
Seeing that her prolonged attacks were fruitless, Camille extended her leg-mounted grappling hook, reaching the building where Silco and Viktor were located at extreme range, and began soaring towards it.
But as she was pulled close to the wall, her Hex eyes suddenly froze.
Boom!
Before she could leap down, a violent explosion erupted at the point where her grappling hook was anchored, engulfing her in fire and smoke.
A whooshing sound cut through the air as Camille broke free from the smoke, falling to the ground. Her body was inevitably damaged, her clothes torn, revealing the mechanical structures beneath.
"Precise calculations are usually based on complete information."
Her gaze was like electricity, her sharp eyes fixed on the two figures standing on the high ground.
Seeing her in this state, Silco's eyes held a mocking glint.
"You've acted too many times, and Piltover's technology updates too slowly. As long as it's a machine, there's always a way to get its parameters."
Camille didn't reply, but instead turned her gaze to the five armored warriors who had rushed over.
She knew these were masterpieces created by continuously overdrawing life through Shimmer, essentially making them single-use items.
She had intended to wait for them to collapse on their own, but due to certain hidden concerns, she didn't want to prolong it any further.
She pushed off with her blade-like legs, leaping high into the air, the blue glow in her eyes intensifying as powerful Primal Crystal energy waves radiated outwards from her legs.
Clang!
Just then, a robot that had been fighting Jayce suddenly disengaged under the cover of its companions' beams. It turned and aimed its iron fist at Camille. The fist, dragged by a rope, flew straight towards her.
Crack!
The powerful energy wave not only swept away four armored warriors but also immobilized Camille's target. Just as her sharp blade was about to pierce the gap in his helmet's eye slit—
The iron fist opened, grabbing Camille's airborne body, and forcefully dragging her back.
During this process, the robot's interior emitted powerful electricity. The moment Camille was pulled into its electrical range, she felt her body become completely immobilized. Except for the fleshy parts of her upper body, the rest was completely unable to move, and even her heart felt like it had stopped.
Seeing her predicament, the others all looked grim.
Camille, on the other hand, remained expressionless, but a hint of human sadness flickered in her eyes.
Zzzzt!
Powerful currents continuously washed over Camille's body, leaving her powerless to move.
She had to admit, Viktor was a genius. In such a short time, he had developed a device that countered the Augmentation Technology within her.
It used the more stable Hex Gemstone to output an electric field, disrupting her Primal Crystal's energy supply to her body, effectively paralyzing her except for her organic parts.
But unfortunately for them—
She was a precise machine; every part of her body was designed for combat.
Useless flesh had been removed, but the useful parts were her potent means of offense.
The fact that her organic hands remained could only mean…
They were…
A weapon!
