C.J.S.P
A fat white cop who looked to be in his forties climbed into the passenger seat with a hamburger, a slice of pizza, and a paper cup of coffee. The old police car creaked under his weight.
Shi Tiexin noticed the badge on his chest: a Level 3 Sergeant of the Castle Under Police Station. His rank seemed just a little higher than Shi Tiexin's.
Tiexin Shi immediately reminded him, "This guy is called Jim."
Jim glanced at the thief unconscious in the back seat and casually asked, "What did he do?"
"Assaulted an officer with a gun. Just caught him."
"Assaulted an officer with a gun?" Jim's eyes widened. He immediately picked up the radio. "Calling dispatch, calling dispatch. This is Jim. One suspect assaulted an officer with a gun and has been apprehended by me. Repeat, apprehended by me, Jim. OVER!"
"Dispatch received. Good work, Sergeant Jim."
Click. He hung up. Jim happily took a sip of coffee, then opened his fat mouth and took a vicious bite from the hamburger. High-calorie butter churned around in his mouth, perfectly embodying the meaning of "greasy middle-aged man."
Shi Tiexin stared at him.
Stealing my credit right to my face? Does he think I don't exist?
Under Shi Tiexin's gaze, Jim said carelessly, "What are you looking at? Hurry up and drive back to the station. Hand the guy over and make the case airtight. Don't act like some dumb fool all day. I don't care whether you were a top student at the police academy—if you work under me, you need to be sharper. Got it?"
Tiexin Shi said at just the right moment, "That's the standing of a Level 2 Officer in the jianghu—no standing at all. We don't have underlings. We are the underlings."
No standing?
