Zhao Qingmiao slumped onto his stool, touched his face, and stared blankly as tears suddenly came rushing down.
They were tears of salvation.
They were tears of remorse.
I—I was just viciously cursing him in my heart, sinisterly hurling abuse at him, and yet that big brother was the one who stepped in and saved me? I was even smug about going after him for Zhou Nan's sake, but when I was drowning in despair, it was this big brother who stood up for me?
I—I'm a beast. I'm a goddamn beast!
Big brother, I was wrong, big brother. I really was wrong!
You have to come back safe!
While Zhao Qingmiao screamed in his heart, what was Shi Tiexin doing?
Shi Tiexin was still standing there in a daze.
He wore a face full of authority, calm and composed, but inwardly he was puzzled. Eh? What's going on? I've only heard of girls going to the bathroom in groups. Don't tell me boys at Fengming First High School go in groups too?
Why does this feel kinda gay...
Let us turn back time a little.
"Black Hand Hungry Tiger is here!" A boy backed into the classroom, shouting in panic—but Shi Tiexin did not hear him. With another consciousness congealing within his mental domain, it was as though he had suffered cerebral thrombosis or a stroke. His senses were currently somewhat sluggish. Unless he deliberately listened, his hearing was not very good.
He vaguely caught something. The classroom seemed rather noisy, but Shi Tiexin did not care.
Wasn't this Trash Class noisy during every break? What was there to make such a fuss about? So Shi Tiexin continued pondering how he could get hold of elementary school textbooks and the elementary-level Auxiliary Cultivation Manual.
After thinking it over for a long while, he found it quite troublesome. Fengming First High School operated under a closed-campus system. During the regular school term, the campus was completely sealed off, and no students were allowed to leave through the gates. Students could only leave during winter and summer vacation. Summer vacation was still far away, and it would certainly come only after the final exams. How could he wait that long?
Could he ask a teacher to approve a pass, claiming that his circumstances were special and he needed to go out? But he had only just arrived. First, he did not know what level of situation the school considered sufficient grounds for leaving campus. Second, he had no idea about the original owner's social connections, much less how much the school knew about such information. If he rashly opened his mouth, he could easily give himself away, and asking for leave next time would become even harder.
Besides, it seemed this Trash Class had no human rights and was not favored by the teachers. The moment he spoke up, the teacher might decide he was making it up. Wouldn't that be unfair?
Hmm...
Well, it would not exactly be unfair, since he really would be making it up.
But how the hell was he supposed to get his cultivation manual and Auxiliary Cultivation Manual?!
Forget it, forget it. No more thinking about that. Shi Tiexin snapped out of his contemplation and suddenly realized that his bladder was completely full, ready to burst forth at any moment. Right—he had drunk five bowls of soup that morning. It was only thanks to his large capacity that he had held it in until now. If he kept holding it, there was no way he could make it through another class.
He had decided. I'm going to the bathroom!
With a creak, Shi Tiexin pulled his desk aside and stood up. In an instant, the entire class looked his way, and silence fell. Shi Tiexin was startled inwardly as he finally saw the situation before him clearly.
This looked like... a small gang bullying that little bean sprout?
Look at that swollen face. The class monitor here really could not hold his ground. If I were class monitor, I would have beaten those guys flat already. But forget it. I had just arrived and did not know what had happened. How could I know who was right and who was wrong? Besides, maybe this was a Trash Class tradition?
Maybe they had some custom here of beating up the class monitor every few days. It was another world, after all. He could not keep making a mountain out of every molehill.
Would it be a little inappropriate to walk over now? But heaven and earth were vast, and the three urgent needs were greatest. His bladder was about to erupt. He could not wet his pants over such a trivial matter, could he? Whatever was going on, no one could stop him. He had to get through!
So, driven by his desperate need to pee, Shi Tiexin charged straight up to Teng Chaoguo with the momentum of a god-slaying god, a Buddha-slaying Buddha. For no other reason than that Teng Chaoguo was blocking the only path to the bathroom.
Facing Shi Tiexin directly, Teng Chaoguo bristled. "Yo, isn't this Scholar Stone? What's this? Standing up at a time like this—what do you want?"
Shi Tiexin raised an eyebrow.
Scholar Stone?
This guy knew me?
So he was an acquaintance. That made things easier.
"Are you trying to take five packs of cigarettes for this piece of trash—"
Who had time to listen to his nonsense? He was about to leak! Shi Tiexin adjusted his tongue in his mouth and said succinctly, "Bathroom." I'm just going to the bathroom. Move aside and let me pass. Once I'm through, do whatever you want. What piece of trash, what five packs of cigarettes—what the hell does that have to do with me?!
"Bathroom?" Teng Chaoguo's expression abruptly became savage and twisted. "Good, good! Scholar Stone's got some real nerve now. You dare ask me to the bathroom? Very good. Excellent. Then let's go—to the bathroom!"
Huh? Sorry, he had only been thinking about peeing and had not listened carefully, but from the sound of it, this guy was going to the bathroom too? He was halfway through beating someone up, and he was just going to leave it there and go? Then again, who knew—maybe this guy also urgently needed to pee?
Forget it. He did not know where the bathroom was anyway. Since this guy was willing to go, he could follow him and save himself from running around in circles, unable to find it, and pissing all over the road.
"Lead the way."
Thus, Teng Chaoguo and his four men escorted Shi Tiexin out of the Class 28 classroom, heading all the way toward the famous Black Toilet of Trash Class. The name Black Hand Hungry Tiger resounded throughout the entire Trash Class. Every Trash Class student hurriedly hid to either side, like the Street Sweeping Tiger on patrol. Once the six had passed, the students eagerly gathered their heads together and whispered, discussing without end. No one knew whether Teng Chaoguo's group had gained another capable fighter, or whether some fierce man was challenging Black Hand Hungry Tiger's authority.
Look at that big guy in the back. His presence was incredibly strong—he did not look like some underling at all. From the looks of it, they were heading to the Black Toilet for a battle!
And Shi Tiexin, the focus of everyone's attention, was utterly confused.
Looking at the students lined up on both sides to greet them, why did going to the bathroom feel like an imperial envoy making an inspection tour? Was it really such a grand occasion? Or was this another local tradition unique to this place? Hold it in. I have to blend in and cannot look startled by everything. But this Trash Class in the Sacred Land of Mind Arts was too mysterious. Strange customs appeared one after another. Could not understand it, could not understand it...
Still, Shi Tiexin was not truly a fool.
Out of the corner of his eye, he glanced at the four lackeys who seemed to be escorting him. Very quickly, he understood that he appeared to have been misunderstood and dragged into some affair.
No, this had nothing to do with him. He could not wade into these muddy waters. He should first go to the bathroom and take a piss, then find an opportunity to explain things clearly. Though he had a decent impression of that little sprout, they had no real connection. Whatever grudges or debts they had, they could settle them themselves. It had nothing to do with him. He was new here, and he had just been disciplined. He should keep a low profile and endure for now...
Just as he was thinking this, Shi Tiexin suddenly felt the congealed, dormant consciousness within his mental domain twitch. It let out a faint sound.
...Endure...
Hm?
Shi Tiexin frowned. What was going on? Why did that consciousness seem as though it was about to awaken from hibernation? What exactly had stimulated it?
