Great clumps of Black Venerable's consciousness unfurled and spread outward. The two consciousnesses blended like water and milk, merging into one.

For many things, the hardest part was getting started, and completing Destiny Missions was no exception. When it was difficult, it could take ages to pry open a breakthrough. But once the opening had been made, the rest simply fell apart at the touch of the blade.

After all, every person's thoughts had their own continuity. Scholar Stone was like this, and so was Black Venerable.

The thoughts had arrived, the actions had arrived, and most precious of all, their souls had come into harmony. Thus, everything fell into place as naturally as water flowing down a channel.

The three major channels suddenly opened wide. The communication rate between physical strength, vitality, essence, and consciousness surged, and much of the Interlayer Mist between Worldlines dispersed.

The most important of the three forms of support—mental support—arrived. Shi Tiexin felt as though he had gained two auxiliary brains.

One was Scholar Stone, far beyond the Worldline. It was like making an overseas call that had to be relayed and connected; the signal was poor, cutting in and out.

The other was right beside him, deep within his consciousness: the silent but steadfast Black Venerable.

In a daze, Shi Tiexin once again arrived in that place of soul-to-soul communication.
